Maybe some preparation work will start this year.

Masisira ang timeline nitong MMSP dahil anothet soil testing ulet gagawin ng JICA team so another cost ulet tapos dagdag pa dyan yung ibang factors like inflation rate, etc.

Talagang di nag iisip itong mga [email protected] na politiko na ito makatipid lang kahit mas malaki ang total cost dahil sa pabago bagong scope of works

Some of our politicians apparently don't trust foreigners, even if those foreigners are experts. That or they're just trying to discredit certain political rivals, which is nothing new.

May nakita ako kaninang clearing activities doon sa tabi ng pilahan ng P2P sa tapat ng parking ng Ayala Vertis. I'm not sure kung related sa MMSP.

My grab driver was surprised when I told him they haven't dug an inch yet, since he was counting on the press release that it will be done by 2023 (the 3 stations).

And to add to that, which idiot would want to run a 3 station subway line? Just wondering how much it would cost to operate and how many passengers it will carry on that very short line?

To borrow the phrase from the infamous Tugading, sa susunod na kabanata.

Was your Grab driver referring to the site at Valenzuela? Because there really isn't any signs of digging at Vertis North onwards. I doubt anybody can see the Valenzuela site that easily unless they sneak an aerial drone. There are many soil testing though and I even personally saw one at MetroWalk a week or two ago.

He was referring to the press release. And I told him if they haven't dug an inch, or have opened a pit to drop their tbm's that 3 stations would be opened by 2023. So far it's all press release, more prep works, ded's, clearing etc. Are their tbm's grinding now anywhere? No one has come round and updated their press release with more realistic timelines. That would be helpful.

I'm going to wait a little while longer. Based on my own personal experience with the Evergreen Skytrain Extension in Metro Vancouver, just digging the staging area hole and assembling the TBM takes many months. I think they mentioned turning it on will be either December or January, which is still within my expected time frame. Again, unless someone in the forums has a drone shot of the Valenzuela site showing progress or the lack thereoff, all we have is speculation on the actual status of the project. No reason to jump to any conclusions at this point.

Japanese quality over Chinese speed, anytime! Besides, understandable that this project takes time, ang laki nito eh. Some projects started during GMA and Pnoy's time are just being completed by now. Let's be patient. Mabilis lang ang 6 years.

China is fast cuz they don't have to worry about things like HEWMAAAN RIGHTS! The hell with property rights when it comes to ROW acquisition, or labour rights when it comes to 24/7 work with no increase pay. Just BUILD IT, even if they have to level entire villages and subjugate entire populations just so they can finish a project like yesterday...

Or a crazy senate that is trying to block emergency powers for the president.

We still have the thinking China projects are all low quality? If you pay the right price on the right supplier/contractor that won't be an issue.
