Proposal by Coventry University to provide new and enhanced facilities for the Faculty of Arts & Humanities. The scheme proposes the demolition of the Bugatti Building; the erection of a part four and part five-storey extension and various internal and external alterations to the Maurice Foss and Graham Sutherland Buildings.

I quite like the Foss building. I think the ground floors could look great if they had a cafe or something in them. I like the way the ratios of the external features change on the way up.

Main Contractor has been appointed on this project now (McLaughlin & Harvey), so we should start seeing some movement on site in the next 2-3 months

We had a uni building which appeared to all be one building as it used all the same materials etc but one wing had slightly different ceiling heights to the other so on most floors you'd have to go down a few steps in the central atrium then up a couple on the other side to get to the other side.

Most confusingly was at floor 6 on one wing, you could walk directly across the centre into the other wing completely unobstructed, but you were then on floor 5 of that wing.

There are a couple of areas of new work, but the majority is refurb / renovation

It's a bit of campus filler. The new development will help Cox St. It's a long street in the middle of campus with not a lot going on.
