The Burges Heritage Scheme | The Burges/Palmer Lane | Mixed-Use | Appr.

Phase one of plans to regenerate The Burges and Palmer Lane is set to commence in late 2019 after Coventry City Council and Historic Coventry Trust received a grant from the Department for Digital, Culture Media & Sport (DCMS) as a 'demonstrator project' for its £44million High Streets Heritage Action Zone programme led by Historic England.

The first phase will focus on improving shop fronts along The Burges along with the construction of two rear extensions. The first will be constructed off Palmers Lane to provide a new ground floor A1 (retail) use and two new B1 (office) uses on upper floors all linked into existing building. The second will provide new A1 (retail) space to land at rear of No 23 The Burges along Palmers Lane.

At last, someone with money is giving Coventry some love, and a bit more respect than the city corporation ever did back in the 70's...
