I quite like it too. Yes the building is super sustainable and won a few awards.

I wasn't a fan when it was first built, but 20 years on it has grown on me. I like it.

Looking at this image it's kind of a love/hate thing for me. Perhaps the use of some more glass, an exterior face lift of some kind and/or some cladding would improve the overall image. It's certainly a unique building and is both liked/disliked for valid reasons IMO.

Council tower coming down. No idea what is happening there, but I've heard that the building was in quite a bad way and needed to go anyway.

I hope that horrible red brick bit is going as well!

I like it but it looks strange. Not sure if it's all the towers or the set back location.

The development on Cox street fills in the gap nicely, but it does remove a route from the bottom of Far Gosford Street through to the Cathedral, which was in the past the line of 'new street'. You can still use the paths by the ring road (Undesirable).

I believe the plan is to have a op open vista from here to the Cathedral, so maybe D-block will be replaced by two buildings flanking an open space.

Somebody on the Manchester forum has posted some pictures of a development from the University of Manchester. It'd be good to see some ground floor commercial use for whatever Cov have planned for all of the former council buildings. You could have a bit of a square with the council house at one side and restaurants or bars facing on to it.

Looks better now than in the above photo.

Some work happening on the Charles Ward building. The canopy was being removed on the side facing the swimming pool.

That would be good, as with a lot of workers around it businesses might have steady footfall. It's also on a major route. Would certainly liven the area up!

You can see just how much difference having a city centre campus makes to Coventry. There are 6 university/halls buildings in this picture.

I think this is the Faculty of Arts and Humanities ? - some movement on this (albeit quite slow at the moment)
I'd guess at start on site late 2020

EDIT: Sorry - this was in respect of post 457

Reeeally...? Maybe it is not a clear cut beauty but come on the worst ever?

I had studied there, from inside building is great, spacious, lots of natural light with variety of areas to study, it is also naturally ventilated.

I think it serves its purpose very well.

Also whoever came up and designed those green areas around the streets should get a huge bonus.

Absolutely orgasmic, the biggest attraction for me in Coventry. World class!
