Yeah I heard on TV that PBA teams will be lending at least 1 good player for our national team. I hope to see Chris Ellis of Barangay Ginebra in the upcoming FIBA games!

Dapat ganyan may comprehensive program targeting an Olympic spot at hindi half-hearted or token support lamang. It's for the good of the PBA and Phil. basketball in the end. Simple pero hindi madaling gawin.

SBP to put 'best foot forward' in FIBA hosting

ABS-CBNnews.com

MANILA, Philippines – Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) said it now has to get the ball rolling in organizing the country’s hosting of the 27th FIBA Asia Championship.

SBP executive director Renauld “Sonny” Barrios said one of the issues is the logistics involved in hosting the tournament, which is a qualifier for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

“Ang sabi nga ni [SBP President Manny] Pangilinan, it's going to be a logistical nightmare kasi nandyan ang safety, security, transportation,” Barrios said during a recent episode of ANC’s sports show, Hardball.

Barrios said Pangilinan wants to make the Philippines proud by organizing the event with the highest international standards.

The last time the Philippines hosted the FIBA Asia championship was in 1973, when it was still known as the Asian Basketball Confederation Championship.

“Just to give you an idea, because we really want to put our best foot forward in hosting, 'yung team buses, let's say we've got 16 teams... ita-time and motion study mo, kung pwede 12 lang ang bus mo, kung pwedeng 14 lang,” said Barrios.

But Barrios said Pangilinan wants one bus for each team and one car for each delegation head to avoid any inconvenience.

“Si MVP (Pangilinan), sabi niya bigyan mo sila ng tig-isang bus, tapos bigyan mo ng tig-isang kotse yung head ng bawat delegation para walang aberya.”

Pangilinan earlier said they expect up to 1,000 athletes and officials from 16 countries to attend the event.

“Hosting this event is not gonna be easy because it's a complex undertaking on the part of the SBP and this country, so we need the cooperation of the national and local governments particularly the cities of Manila and Pasay in hosting this event,” said the SBP president.

Norwood is best suited for the PG position.

Nice choice of lineup, specially for the bigs. Fajardo and greg are the best backups for marcus. Hopefully san miguel can loan him to gilas, same as with marcio.

Oh... OK thanks. I hope his stint trying out in the US helped improve his game even further.
