probably the best skyline in the US, with seattle and new york a close second. seattle is beautiful, but chicago has the awe advantage in addition to being beautiful. new york is certainly awe inspiring, but just not that interesting when just taking into accout the skyline.

I agree, Seattle does have an absolutely amazing skyline with a beautiful backdrop. NYC's skyline is just plain overwhelming. It is just so dense..... but it is beautiful as well.

I lived there for 3 years, and must testify to the perfection of this skyline.
It is like a man-made crystalline mountain range, especially when viewed from the near-northwest side.
The density and layout is just perfect
I don't see how people can complain about it being too boxy. This isn't Dubai. Chicago is like a skyscraper museum.

A beauty! 8.5/10

(I don't give out 10's to anyone). Gotta leave room at the top.

Good point but when you leave room at the top that room is reserved for Chicago isn't it?

Don't knock Toronto mate because pretty much everywhere looks puny and crappy when you are seeing it just after chicago.

If this is not a 10 then I simply don't know what is.

Can you post some recent ones? Because this is from the 90's at least.

Montrose Harbor

Fantastic Shot George of the northern skyline and Montrose Harbor never looked so nice from an aerial view.

Beautiful photos Chicagostyle!

And like you said, it gets very warm and extremely humid during the summer, and bone chilling cold during the winter. Kinda makes us a crazy lot of people......

June 2006......that's 109F or 43C

February 2007.....it got down to -23C

Yes you are correct, it is like NYC only much more beautiful. Lincoln Park starts where downtown ends at the upper left corner by the John Hancock bldg. The High rises on the right are of the neighborhood called Park West with the Gold Coast neighborhood in the background just before Downtown as well. In Chicago Similar area like Ny's upper east side and west side, are all on one lake side with miles of parks, beaches, and of course our beautiful architecture
