#UNDER C: ONE AT THE PALM (BY OMNIYAT), RES, 25F, 100m (PALM JUMEIRAH)

One at the Palm in Dubai - luxury project designed by Super Potato

The Japanese designer of the Zuma London celebrity hangout is turning his attention to Dubai’s Palm-Jumeirah.

The Japanese interiors firm Super Potato, famed for its chic modern Japanese fit-outs including the Grand Hyatt Singapore, the Ritz- Carlton Pudong and the Westin Guragon in New Delhi, will help design the One at Palm project.

The residential project is being developed by Omniyat and Drake & Scull.

It is understood that the new development will be built on undeveloped land on the left side of the trunk of the Palm.

Omniyat and DSI said that the development is likely to be the first in a number of collaborations by the pair.

One at Palm will be jointly developed by both companies and will be managed by Omniyat. The enabling works are due to commence within the next two months.

The tower will comprise apartments ranging in size from 2,500 to 20,000 square feet. Omniyat and Drake & Scull declined to reveal further details on the cost or size of the project. Super Potato will work alongside the New York-based architect Soma on the building design, while landscaping will be designed by the Lebanese firm Vladimir Djurovic Landscape Architecture.

Omniyat Group, Drake & Scull Begin Work On Palm Jumeirah Project

The project is the highest residential development in Palm Jumeirah and is scheduled to be finished by 2017.

Omniyat Group and Drake & Scull International (DSI) announced that they have begun construction on their megaproject in Palm Jumeirah by breaking ground.

The project, called One at Palm Jumeirah, is a Dhs2 billion premium residential development located at the trunk of Palm. The property, which was launched in August, is scheduled for completion by 2017.

“Throughout the next three years, the Omniyat Group and DSI will work jointly to build this building to a standard, well beyond anything seen in high-end development,” said Mahdi Amjad, CEO of Omniyat.

The development will be 25 storeys high and will comprise of 90 apartments. The One at Palm Jumeirah will also have indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a cinema, cigar lounge, super luxury spa and yacht club.

The project will be the highest residential development at the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, the statement said.

“One at Palm Jumeirah is specially crafted for the most privileged of the privileged few, which shows the commitment which is reflected in our design approach,” said Khaldoun Al Tabari, CEO of DSI.

The project is a 50-50 joint venture between the Omniyat group and DSI and will be designed by architects Soma from New York, Super Potato interior design from Japan and Vladimir Djurovic landscape architects from Lebanon.

Real estate developers have been cashing in on Dubai’s property boom with the launch of new projects while some have restarted work on stalled developments.

Omniyat, which had to suspend Dhs8 billion worth of projects during the property crash in Dubai, unveiled projects such as The Opus and The Pad last year.

Aside from its joint venture project with DSI, the developer launched a Dhs600 million tower in Dubai Maritime City and a Dhs900 million residential tower in the Business Bay area during Cityscape Global 2014.

I'm sure I made someone similar looking to that with a tub of random Lego blocks when I was about 5 years old.

Looks interesting, but it will certainly not age well.

WOW ! The design is very cool and futuristic but it is to massive for the entrance of Palm Jumeirah ! Morever on the left side in the entrance it will have some modern buildings (Viceroy, One); in the middle Arabic style buildings (Golden Mile...) and on the right side the new Nakheel project with a style I can't find words for... 3 architectural style is to much ! It will look kinda weird ...

I spoke to Kabir Mulchandani and he told me its been approved to revers the entrance off main road to an exit outside viceroy north. Not sure it will help The one though. I was then told be viceroy that they have a number of options they sent to RTA for alterations to exit. So i think its unto the RTA
