Is this under construction? Planned? Approved?

After a lengthy process all CPOs have been agreed and the main problem landowner has agreed a price for his portion of the site. A public exhibition took place last month prior to a new application which will essentially be the same scheme but with minor adjustments following further consultation with Stagecoach and in light of changing retailer, financing demands. I.e. larger shop units, larger housing units and an on road bus station as opposed to a larger dedicated facility (such as Winchester has currently).

Whilst the redevelopment of the area is much needed, the designs proposed are pretty horrendous. Hendersons are being quite clever in how they are trying to portray the building heights, but some of the new streets will probably be perceived as narrow and canyon-like.

The removal of the bus station is a mistake - I cannot see how the on-road solution will work, especially on Friarsgate at rush hour.

If only the architecture was better and there was an opportunity to do something with The Brooks.

Farnborough/Camberley/Aldershot/Farnham and surrounding towns development thread

Thought we could do with a thread for the Blackwater Valley conurbation as if you include Fleet its an area of around 300,000 people.

Camberley

Back in July 2014 Surrey Heath Borough Council set out a £310m plan to regenerate the town centre. Lots of vague proposals.

London road improvements.

A developer has revealed plans to more than treble in size the controversial former Sun Park site at Guillemont Barracks between Fleet and Farnborough.

Bellway Homes and DV4 Properties has asked Hart District Council for pre-application advice to demolish existing office buildings on the site and build around 320 homes as part of Phase 2 of its Guillemont Park development, bringing the total to 470 homes.

Earlier this year an appeal decision allowed 150 homes to be built on the site.

As the site falls between Fleet and Farnborough , planning permission was sought from both Hart and Rushmoor local authorities.

Farnborough

Plans to turn Farnborough's former Thomson Local building into a mix of 110 one-bedroom and 55 two-bedroom apartments, with underground car and cycle parking go on display this week.
Blackburn Properties is hoping to extend and convert the 63,000sq/ft building into a total of 165 flats.
