In the hotel development pack construction is to start soon

Construction assumed to commence in JANUARY 2020 with completion 39 months later in MARCH 2023.

Development to cost R1.4 billion.

I think Ingenuity should get FWJK to help them get The Modern off the ground

I cannot understand why they won't break ground on The Modern since they have been successful with 117 on Strand.

Here's the new render. Personally, I prefer the previous scheme. The parking levels looked a lot better and the general shape of the tower made it appear slimmer. But this isn't too bad

With The Rubik kicking off and zero2one hopefully following suit in the not too distant future, we're doing some significant densification to the skyline within a short period of time. 16onBree and 35 Lower Long alone are already making quite the impact. When The Modern and Site B eventually kick off the skyline is going to look very different!

I agree. If all these towers go to construction phase, CT will see the biggest building boom since the 1970's.

For 117 Strand the majority of the building was sold prior to construction commencing, for The Modern to get going they would either need to pre-sell or pre-let the majority of the building and they haven't got their yet
