Crossrail is currently aiming for sometime between October 2020 and March 2021, it depends how well the testing goes

The Northern Line extension won't open until Autumn 2021, it will be finished earlier but Bank station is being rebuilt at the same time which means the line will be blocked and split in two - more trains are needed to run the split service so there won't be enough trains for the extension until the work at Bank is finished

Thanks.

Crossrail is currently partly operational, on the eastern side of the line and the possibility to take it from end to end is what you mention for one more year or so, correct?

Oh... 2 more years until the branch becomes operational!

Not really, the Crossrail trains are running on the line out of Liverpool Street, but that uses no new infrastructure at all, they have just replaced the older trains with newer ones. Those trains are also running in the west but again, only replacing older ones.

The central segment and branch to the southeast will open next year or the year after, but only as far as Paddington. They won't run all the way through until at least another 6 months later once everything is working smoothly

And the latest update on the Crossrail progress:

Quote:
News on progress of existing TfL schemes has been in short supply during most of 2019. As if to make up for this, the 23rd October meeting of the Programmes & Investment Committee provided not only comprehensive background papers on a range of subjects but also a very informative discussion of the issues raised.

We hope to try and cover most of the major areas where we have updates of what is happening and, to that end, we kick off with Crossrail using information gained from the above committee and other sources to establish where we are today. The main source of information was Mark Wild’s (chief executive at Crossrail) presentation to the board members of the above committee.
Warning, long read in the link

It isn't though, they had already announced it would open sometime between Oct 2020 and March 2021. All they have done today is confirm it won't be in 2020
