The Titans rise

image hosted on flickr

Would have been so incredible to see this sight over Lower Manhattan again had they rebuilt them.

Just imagining being in that gritty atmospheric early 70s NY streetscape watching these sleek monoliths rising gives me shivers

do you remember where or how you found this picture? It's showing the Singer Building being demolished and I'm currently recreating that region in 3D in 1910. I tried to find it on nyhistory.org but I couldn't find the picture in their collections.

Thank you in advance.

I found this one from Trung Trung on flickr, I still have no idea how to get other photos from the NY Historical Society due to how awful their site is.

Here's the link to his photostream: (there are a few other NY Photos he has outside of this album)

And here's one to mine, where I have a few photos of demolition and the building's life/end:

I usually scavenge getty and other stock sites or different flickr accounts for the best pictures.

If I remember again you're the person who started the Washington Life forum, if so hello again (I'm the US Steel Guy)

Thank you very much, these collections will help me a lot!

That's me indeed, from YIMBY. I even suspected you were the guy who hates US Steel for your posts here and there, but I preferred not to risk being wrong hehehe
