Guggenheim - Metropolitan - Natural History

One of the great qualities who makes New York an international city is the large and varied amount cultural offer. On the top of this is the Metropolitan Museum of Art or just The Met, who concentrates several collections of many cultures of the whole world. It is quite similar to the Louvre in France, when speaking of the amount of rooms and some design elements of its architecture. The Met has paintings from famous artists, such as Rembrandt, Goya, Caravaggio, Manet, Renoir, Cézanne, and the self portrait of Van Gogh. What really gets the attention are the musical instruments, with many types of guitars from all around the world and the percussion instruments of 2 meters-high of the old China who looked like mummies. Also, the armours of the medieval knights. Near the Met Museum lies another modern icon of the New York culture: the Solomon Guggenheim. The most interesting thing about this particular museum is the experience of the descendent floors, like a spiral. After taking the elevator to the last floor, the display goes down to the ground floor of the building. Quite cool. And lastly, the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH). The museums of this particular subject usually are very similar on the whole world. The difference, in this case, are the proportions. This one is huge, with a 3D IMAX theatre, and the dark Marine Life room with the famous whale pending from the roof.

Great picture. Sadly I fear that we will need more museums and maybe aquariums and zoos as the Noah's Arcs of nature and civilizations' artifacts lost from neglect, climate change and war. Hope I'm wrong.
