Might as well abolish them, redundant na sila dahil may National Center for Transportation Studies sa UP Diliman. :P

22 firms buy bid docs for new LRT, MRT ticket machines

MANILA, Philippines - Twenty-two firms are keen on bidding for the automatic fare collection system for Metro Manila's mass rail transits, according to the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC).

In a media briefing on Tuesday, January 15, DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio "Jun" Abaya said 22 firms have bought bid documents for the project, which will replace the magnetic stripe tickets of the Light and Metro Rail Transits with "contactless smartcards and tokens."

"This is a clear example of a pure PPP project of DOTC wherein investments will purely come from private sector. There will be no government participation nor subsidies," Abaya said.

The firms are required to submit the bid documents on February 14, the date set for the pre-qualification bidding. This determines the technical and financial capability of the firms to undertake the project.

Only those who will pre-qualify will be allowed to join the formal bidding. Once the contract is awarded, project execution may begin.

New Rapid KL LRT rolling stocks made from China's CSR?

Report from Pinky Webb, ABS-CBN News

I always see this advertisement whenever I ride the LRT2 everyday. It is brilliant.

Have you ever wondered what do the station names of the LRT2 mean? Santolan, Betty-Go and etc..

This site is very helpful to answer that question.

www.historiles.com

This is a project of Historiles, ADMU and the LRTA.

I really do hope the make a LRT1 version of this. It is pretty nice and clever action to educate riders. It gives them a sense of factual ideas.

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Finance (DOF) and San Miguel Holdings Corp., have agreed in principle on the changes in the concession agreement for Metro Rail Transit Line (MRT-7), a government official told The STAR over the weekend.

<snipped>

The DOF and San Miguel have already agreed in principle. Hopefully, the signing will be in January,” said the source.

<snipped>

The DOF wants San Miguel to ensure compliance with performance standards stipulated in the agreement and that the government must be able to terminate the contract if the proponent is unable to operate at a certain capacity.
Furthermore, the DOF also wants to be able to slap penalties for non-compliance and termination of extended non-compliance.

The proposed MRT-7 will run from San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan to SM City North Edsa...

Bombardier trains are 1G and 2G sa LRT-1 at present.

[Driver's Cab - Door - Door - Articulation - Door - Door - Articulation - Door - Door - Articulation - Door...] = 1 set

At eto naman 3G ngayon: [Driver's Cab - Door - Door - Articulation - Door - Door] - [Door - Door - Articulation - Door - Door] - .... = 1 set

Sorry kung magulo. Just day dreaming.
