Metromanila's de facto CBDs that are nearly adjacent to each other are Ayala, BGC and Ortigas. These 3 needs to be urgently connected. Connecting the Reclaimed Area and NAIA are the next steps.

President Rodrigo Duterte will pursue a subway (Line 5) project that will connect the capital's business districts, as he moves to ease traffic congestion, a Cabinet official said Tuesday August 16.

Eh kung instead na sa dulo ng MRT-3 nila i connect to, baket di na lang sa South and SouthWest bus terminals, para mabilis ang transition from the transport hubs papunta ng CBDs.

Duterte plans subway to ease Metro traffic woes

http://news.abs-cbn.com/business/08/...o-traffic-woes

Quote:
MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte will pursue a subway project that will connect the capital's business districts, as he moves to ease traffic congestion, a Cabinet official said Tuesday.
The subway, to be effective, will be connected with Metro Manila's other transportation systems, Transportation Undersecretary for rail Noel Kintanar said.
"If we plan this well, the commuter will be given choice, and by that, we can distribute congestion rather than concentrate it on one or two lines," Kintanar told "Gridlock: An ANC Forum on the Transportation Crisis."

Finally! We have a president that is true to his words.

Gov’t revives plan to put up subway in M. Manila

Quote:
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) under President Duterte is reviving plans for a Metro Manila subway which will form part of a long-term public transportation network to fight the worsening road congestion.

Noel Kintanar, DOTr undersecretary for rails and toll roads, revealed the plan as he supported private sector participation in helping build key infrastructure, including railway lines, in the capital district and key areas, including Cebu and Davao.

The subway line, previously described under the Public Private Partnership program as the Makati-Pasay-Taguig Mass Transit System Loop, aimed to connect major business districts in Metro Manila via a 12-kilometer underground train.

Sana nga kasama yung Pasig-Ortigas area.

And yung mga stations sana nito may ka-akibat na public transpo/trains palabas ng metro.

Duterte admin revives plan to build Metro Manila subway

1ST SUBWAY. The current administration says the subway PPP deal is being revisited because 'there is demand for the service.'

Quote:
MANILA, Philippines – The P374.5-billion ($8.08-billion) project to build a subway connecting the cities of Makati, Pasay, and Taguig is being revived by the transportation department under President Rodrigo Duterte.

The Mass Transit System Loop or Light Rail Transit Line 5 would have been the most expensive public-private partnership (PPP) deal implemented under former president Benigno Aquino III's administration.
