Huh??
What is this?

Is the Line 5 Subway now supposed to go beyond BGC and to Pateros, connecting with Line 4?

And what is this EWR going along EDSA and Quezon Avenue?!

I'm not gonna complain though, seems more sensible to me with the new Line 4 route, connecting with PNR in one end and Line 5 in the other end, especially that it goes through Shaw

There should still be a line that goes through South-Western QC, connecting LRT-1 with Line 4

Mas ok siguro if they extend the line from Ortigas Edsa to Gilmore/Aurora. Para may station sa Greenhills and connecting station sa Lrt 2 gilmore

PPP Center and NEDA has finally chosen Option 1 (Sta. Mesa) for LRT line 4, making the system 19 kilometers long.

Oh man, I was hoping that Line 4 would connect to one of the stations of MRT 2. However, the possible extensions to Paco or Makati was what probably convinced them to take option 1. Is it better if it was on Boni avenue instead of Shaw boulevard?

If Option 1 is chosen, they should make an extension towards the Pureza line 2 station and make an interchange there. That way people from PNR and Line 4 can easily enter line 2.

I'm actually glad its Option 1. Option 2 would have benefitted me personally but I think Option 1 can make a bigger impact.

Basta hindi Option 3, yun gusto ni Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya. Its the least beneficial and the most technically challenged. Plus it would really screw up the Robinson's Galleria area and wouldn't help much since those La Sallites will still block Ortigas Avenue instead of taking the train.

This of course assuming the NEDA approval is true. Nothing yet from the media, mainstream or social...

i agree, option 1 is best. I dont live in mandaluyong, but whenever i pass through the manda bridge area, the traffic is horrendous. Plus, this gives an alternative for the people using MRT-3 to get to the makati area.

I hope we get to hear some confirmation about it. this is a great development if true.

While I'm partial to Option 2, Option 1 is still a great choice as it will provide closer connection to Makati and Paco but will also connect the rising Mandaluyong southwest business district along the Pioneer-Reliance-Sheridan area.

I just hope they consider building another station between Cainta Junction and Tikling (the Valley Golf area is the most feasible location for that station).

I've been looking at the distance between Pureza Station of LRT2 and Sta Mesa Station of PNR and the distance seems similar (just woke up without coffee) to that of MRT3 North Ave Station and the original Common Station at SM North Annex. But the bigger challenge is even if we want to extend LRT4 Option 1 to Pureza Stn, you will need a common station to connect. Pureza to Sta Mesa station is walkable but a long walk.

The real question is HOW do the commuters of PNR and LRT2 deal with transferring between the two lines *today*, assuming they transfer at all?

I actually lived in Sta. Mesa for many years and based on my experience and walking tolerance, the walking distance is manageable. My estimate is that it will take about 5 minutes (Google says 7 minutes) walking to and from Pureza Line 2 Station to the PNR Sta. Mesa station.

With regards to the question as how commuters transferring between these 2 lines deal with it, if ever, I believe many of them walk while some ride pedicabs/tricycles.
