Makati-BGC monorail project picks up speed

Source: https://business.inquirer.net/272722...picks-up-speed

Quote:
The monorail project of tycoon Andrew Tan’s Alliance Global Group Inc. (AGI) is seeing just a few more stops ahead before it can begin formal construction early next year. AGI CEO Kevin Tan said in a chance interview last week that project proponent Infracorp Development Inc. had finalized negotiations for the concession agreement of its P3-billion monorail that would link Fort Bonifacio and the outskirts of the Makati Central Business District in Metro Manila.

The unsolicited project of Infracorp Development, a unit of AGI, will now be evaluated by the National Economic and Development Authority ahead of a Swiss Challenge. This is a type of bidding that allows rivals to challenge Infracorp, which holds the right to then match the best alternative offer. ”We want to start [construction] by January next year,” Tan said, adding the project would take two and a half years to finish.

A compromised agreement between Ayala Corp. and AGI-Infracorp can finish the Philippines first monorail project in just 1 year and 3 months by starting on both ends of the stations then connecting halfway.
Still happy the project is a Go!

^ Hintayin natin approval ng NEDA. If they get the green light, I think this has a better chance of materializing the SMC's Bulacan Airport.

AGI to break ground for Makati-Fort Bonifacio monorail Skytrain in January 2020
Published June 21, 2019 5:41pm
By TED CORDERO, GMA News

Quote:
Alliance Global Group Inc.’s (AGI) infrastructure arm Infracorp Development Inc. is eyeing to break ground for its two-kilometer Skytrain monorail project by January next year as the company is confident it can best potential rivals in a Swiss Challenge.

“We hope to ground-break by January [2020],” Infracorp president and AGI CEO Kevin Tan told reporters on the sidelines of property arm Megaworld’s annual stockholders’ meeting in Quezon City on Friday.

Tan said the company already did the “groundwork” in preparation for potential challengers during the Swiss challenge, “so we will be awarded by September or October.”

“We are also trying to sort out right-of-way concerns,” he said.

The company’s original proposal is still with the National Economic and Development Authority-Investment Coordination Committee (NEDA-ICC), waiting for the go signal for a Swiss challenge.

The Skytrain project will use the automated cable-propelled monorail technology. It is envisioned to reduce the travel time from Fort Bonifacio to MRT Guadalupe Makati to only five minutes.

Not against sa private initiative na katulad nito kahit di sumunod sa transport masterplan as long iconnect ito sa mga existing at future MRT/LRT stations na may proper interchange

May pila sa NEDA. Di rin sya kasama sa identified ng DOTr or DPWH, so dulo sila sa pila.

Infracorp Development will be taking the remaining 3%, which will be used to fund infrastructure projects, such as a two-kilometer monorail from Makati City to Taguig City, as well as the Ninoy Aquino International Airport rehabilitation program."
