2km ONLY? What the That's only 13 minutes if you know how to breeze walk, and 18 - 20 minutes walk. I'm sorry, but this wont even make a dent to traffic. Maybe will be good at luring tourist. I also reckon the fare wont be cheap given the hefty price tag at 3B.

^Not all can do a "breeze walk" along squatters/gillage areas like you. The project is for niche market of otherwise.

this project can also be extended to close the loop into Ayala if private entities involved has the will, they can even connect to the JICA subway.

the malls/casinos/condos in the MOA/Bay Area can also make the same project. from MRT Taft they can connect their malls, casinos, condos to the airport/SWITEX/LRT south extension.

I am not complaining aswell, I was just surprise it was that short. I am stating a fact so that people will understand or have some sense of idea on how long this rail line is. Anyway if you guys are familiar with Singapore's Sky Train which travels from Harbour Front to Sentosa Island, well its almost of the same length. Sentosa is 2.1KM all in all and takes 8 minutes travel time end to end.

Alliance Global unit ready to start construction of Bonifacio Skytrain
Quote:
Infracorp Development Inc., the infrastructure company of Alliance Global Group Inc., said it expects to start the construction of the P3-billion Skytrain monorail this year, after it obtained an ‘original proponent status’ from the Transportation Department.
Infracorp president Kevin Tan, the eldest son of AGI chairman Andrew Tan, said the construction of the 2-kilometer Skytrain monorail project would start this year and would be completed by 2021.
Tan in a statement welcomed the government’s “remarkable speed” in reviewing the proposal, which was submitted in October 2017.
“We laud the government’s quick action to the proposal. This is another clear indication of the government’s serious commitment and focus on infrastructure developments,” Tan said.
The P3-billion Skytrain monorail project will utilize the automated cable-propelled monorail technology. It is expected to reduce travel time between Fort Bonifacio in Taguig City and MRT Station in Guadalupe, Makati City to only five minutes.

I was going to suggest that. 2.2 km is a very short line, capital intensive, and limited ridership BUT if they can loop it to Ayala, they will have ridership from Makati (as well as from MRT 3, for as long as they can connect it with a passenger walkway.)

For business districts and smaller areas like MOA/Reclamation Area, they use Skytrain or Monorails to connect them with say LRT/MRT etc.

As for financing, well the Ayalas are makunat. Even in Makati bdc they can't even run a proper bus system going up and down and around the area (e.g. Makati Av, Paseo de Roxas etc connected to Ayala and Buendia stns) unlike SM in Cebu with their MyBus.

Maybe they can tap ole Uncle Henry for financing. He is the richest man in the PH, plus his 3 companies have net worth, double/triple that of the next one - SMC (?). He has a malls in BGC and Makati. Isn't he behind the financing of Megawide too?

someone on the Megaworld FB page asked if they could extend this project into other parts of BGC/Makati CBD, they said this is just an initial phase so most likely that could happen. unless of course the Ayalas won't cooperate, maybe they are just waiting for the government to shoulder everything again to favor their projects? ()

They could complete the loop up to the currently under construction One Ayala/Ayala MRT station redevelopment. If money is a non-issue they could also extend it along Ayala Avenue then loop around to Buendia MRT.

Even the developers on Ortigas CBD can do the same, create a loop from Ortigas MRT to Shaw.

It's too uncomfortable to work when you are wet with perspiration. Also a lot of your officemates will avoid you when you smell bad.

Some failed to understand that this is a rapid/mass transport project. Who would want to walk in a hot broad day light and head home in a darkest night?
Sometimes we just need to revisit our simple common sense.

Does monorail system means the system itself only uses 1 train?

Hope this is part of a transit masterplan for the whole BGC and beyond papuntang mc kinley to MRT Ayala o Lawton Ave to Villamor or to Pateros. Baka stand alone lang ito at wala nang extension plans.
