Kahit na 2km pa yun, I'm very sure na malaking ginhawa pa rin yun sa mga nakatira or nagtatrabaho sa BGC lalo na ngayon na sarado na yung butas/shortcut sa may Hyatt. Umulan man o umaraw, napakahirap magcommute from Guada to BGC lalo na kapag rush hour.

---

Re: Empoy's Skytrain: this will be super duper valuable if they can extend this to Mckinley Hill. Ang HIRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP magcommute sa area na yun potek.

Bonus Stage: Traverse Lawton to connect to Newport City as mentioned in the earlier posts

Source?

Mono means one/single track (a track in the middle) only like this photo -

I know, see example..

Example: From point A to B.
If the train is running to point B new arriving passengers in point A need to wait for the train until it unloads people in point B (unload the loads people) and travel back to point A. Is this how things work?

I'm being logical there is NO way to run more than 1 train at a time in monorail. Is this correct?
What happened in case of train failure? How can the management pull back the train in depot if its a monorail or does monorail system has even got a depot?

It depends on how they will build the line. If double tracked (e.g. Palm Monorail in Dubai), it can run at least one train per direction with two trains meeting somewhere halfway along the line. If single tracked loop(e.g. defunct Sydney Monorail), trains can run in intervals.

If a monorail train fails, a straddle-type service vehicle can tow it back to it's depot. And yes, monorails has it's own depot too, just like a conventional railway. It can be accessed via a series of switches and sometimes, a traverser.

Covered, elevated walkways with bike lanes and greeneries would probably be better. 2kms is a short walk.

From the pictures and info from what I have read, this seems to be the kind of tracks the Skytrain would be using:

This is a similar system in Las Vegas Nevada. It is a Cable Liner, designed by DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car.

It uses a cable system that the trains connect to using detachable grips to propel itself, similar to the San Francisco cable cars (unlike funiculars like the Victoria Peak tram which have cars permanently attached to the cable system). This means that the trains are light due to the lack of an on-board main engine (small auxiliary diesel engines are added in case of emergencies to propel it to the nearest station) and that the track could be made out of a steel truss structure, and that multiple trains could be run on a single direction as much as the block sections and cable system could allow, with a switch or a turnaround similar to conventional cable cars.

From what I have also read, the most stations I've seen from a system like this is 5 stations on the Cabletren Bolivariano in Venezuela, although the line was still very short at a little bit over 2km. It means it could be capable of a multi-station setup but a very long line with this seems unlikely and costly (the longest line I've read of this type is just 3km )

"Would be better" kung maayos environment nung area. Yes, it looks like a short walk but there are other circumstances that you have to consider.

Out of curiosity, sino na nakasubok sa inyo magcommute or maglakad from guadalupe to BGC during rush hour? Anong route dinaanan niyo?

Palace welcomes P3-B Guada-BGC monorail project developments

Quote:

MANILA -- Malacañang on Tuesday welcomed the move of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to approve the proposal to build a monorail project connecting Makati City to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City which will start later this year.

“We are pleased to share that the Department of Transportation recently approved the proposal to be submitted to ICC/NEDA to build a monorail which will link central business districts in the cities of Makati and Taguig,” Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said in a press briefing in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

ICC/NEDA stands for the Investment Coordination Committee of the National Economic Development Authority.

Once it is approved by the NEDA, the proposal will undergo Swiss Challenge wherein other companies can make competing offers while giving the original proponent the opportunity to match them.

“Truly, it is Build Build Build under the Duterte administration,” Roque added.

The DOTr earlier granted original proponent status to Infracorp Development Corporation to start construction of the monorail project which is expected to be completed by early 2021.

Like criminals hanging out, on and at the entrance/exit, if an elevated walkway is built?

Pinagkaisahan.

Yung proposed monorial na yan dapat lakihan yung capacity. Aanhin mo ang 5 mins na biyahe kung 30mins to 40mins ang waiting time lalo na kapag rush hour at malakas ang ulan.

That depends how they build and run it. Just because it is a monorail it doesn't mean they will have only 1 train on one track running back and forth. I don't think they're building the Skytrain only for decorasyon or for bragging rights.

Samples of monorail coaches and application, (they're used in many countries as mass transport.) Monorails and skytrains have a lot of usefulness in the Philippines esp in urban areas with narrow roads etc.
