East-West Rail Diliman to Lerma|9.4-kms.|11 Stations

Neda’s ICC aims to secure Duterte’s approval of 3 big infra projects for 2018
Quote:
The Investment Coordination Committee (ICC) of the National Economic and Development Authority (Neda) would prioritize this year the pitching of three big-ticket infrastructure projects, which include two rail projects and an airport, for President Rodrigo Duterte’s approval.
Neda Undersecretary Rolando G. Tungpalan told reporters last week that among the projects to be fast tracked by the ICC include two public-private partnership (PPP) projects, namely: San Miguel Corp.’s proposed New Manila International Airport; and the East-West Rail proposal submitted by the consortium of East West Rail Transit Corp. and AlloyMTD.
Quote:
Also a priority for ICC approval is the Clark-Subic Rail, Tungpalan said.
To be implemented by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority, the P57.6-billion Clark-Subic Rail is among the 75 “flagship” infrastructure projects to be rolled out by the Duterte administration under its ambitious “Build, Build, Build” program

First time to hear this. So this will be along Espana, Quezon Avenue?

Wish this would be connected to Line 2 Recto Station.

The East-West Rail project to be implemented by the state-run Philippine National Railways, meanwhile, will involve the financing, design, construction as well as operation and maintenance of a mostly elevated 9.4-kilometer railway spanning 11 stations from Diliman, Quezon City to Lerma, Manila, the PPP Center said.

Why Lerma? It should be connected to LRT1.

Actually there should have been an interchange/common station at Recto-Rizal Avenue for LRT 1, LRT/MRT 2 and this.

Not specifically mentioned. We have limited information. Although we are sure that the proponent is PNR and the tracks will be elevated (mostly).

Maybe the experts would know.

It looks like this is an elevated LRT under PNR as implementing agency, with depressed section along Quezon Memorial Circle.

"The proposed Quezon Avenue LRT marks the first such pitch from the private sector to be submitted to the NEDA under the administration of President Rodrigo R. Duterte."

Looking at the historical and current state of the PNR especially in its track records of operations and maintenance [*cough* DMU *cough*], all I can say is...Inaykupo...:/

Implementing agency lang ang PNR, but O&M and construction is to be handled by Megawide and Alloy MTD of Malaysia. This is a PPP project

If they use LRTs then they probably do this at grade with underground stations, starting at QC Memorial. Boston, SFO as far as I can recall are LRTs at grade then go underground. We have a LRV line which goes underground at the end to connect with the subway. LRTs are same as the MRT trains right now, and it is a shorter line. LRT at grade with underground stations will only eat up 2 lanes in the middle, and will solve the complaints of UST.

I think it's never been asked but why is the PNR handling this? Do they own the ROW? Why not LRTA?

Huh ??? This line can connect with the L7 at QC memorial, and pick up ridership from QC memorial to Timog/West Ave intersections. It also traverses MRT 3. What on earth are you thinking, putting a line on West Ave?
