Possible but a challenge. You can't just install a pier that easy in that area. Nadadaanan ko yang area na yan almost everyday and I tell you it's going to be difficult.

Can they just 'extend' the line to a monorail or something? The monorail can be extended further to Intramuros, Luneta...

Call me pessimist.. Ang ending lakad parin mga pasahero from Lerma to Recto station..

Bakit? Aba BRAND NEW KAHOY/TABLA/YERO courtesy of <alam na this, 2019>

. . mga general merchandise.

Ang squats area yung nasa likod, tsaka yung area around city jail.

Proposed site of Lerma Station.

It will be subject to a Swiss Challenge because it's an unsolicited proposal, di ba?

As an unsolicited proposal, it is subject to swiss challenge. What if walang makapag match? The project will go to original proponent. So tuloy tong DISCONNECTED Lerma station at wet dream na lang ang Quiapo station due to engineering challenge na kakaharipin patawid ng C.M. Recto.

Budget-wise at engineering-wise Lerma is their best option but for connectivity, catchment at strategic alignment, the line 9 must terminate in Recto or Quiapo at least kung di pwedeng Rizal Park.

^ Baka pwede masundot to sa NEDA-ICC or sa Board (the Dutz) na dapat mas malapit/interconnected na mismo sa L2 Recto Station.

Tama yung kapwa forumer natin, for sure laging sira yung walkalator diyan.

I have faith in Megawide's partner for this, Alloy MTD. During my recent weekend trip in Kuala Lumpur, one of the billboards of their U/C MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line shows that Alloy MTD is one of the contractors of the said MRT line. They were also one of the contractors of the now operational MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang line. Wala lang just sharing

That was the original idea on the old masterplan. L2 and (old) L4 were supposed to meet up in that area (Bilibid I think) closer to L1. They can gentrify that area, and create a proper Very Grand Central Station with Tutuban.

I was thinking maybe another sunog should just do it. I prefer A10 Thunderbolts over Ov and FA50.

Been recently reading this thread and I'm glad that its finally happening I think, this line is really needed to fill the gap between Recto area to Quezon City Circle. But as usual may issues naman at hindi na nasusunod ang orignal plan.

Ideally, they should really build the station near the LRT-2 Recto Station and make a big interchange station between 3 lines. They could even extend this to Quiapo down to Arroceros, maybe even to Lunta (though tbh I rather preserve the vista for not having another structure between Luneta and Intramuros, that's just me).

Unfortunately, there seems to be a technical challenge, but I think what's worst is likely financial and ROW issues. Building station just above the underpass would be challenging but I guess not impossible. It would be just expensive to do so.

I agree to one of the suggestions to just remove Bilibid Prison which is really old and overcrowded anyways and transfer the jail people to somewhere else. Relocate the squatters, since that area is long overdue to be gentrified anyways.

That Bilibid area should be converted into a park and maybe invite some big players to build a mall there (SM, Robinsons, Ayala), just don't make it like Cubao where the walkway has to go through malls. But at least they can help with the redevelopment of the area.

Build an integrated structure between Line 1, 2 and 9 where it is more than a bridge and make it like part of the 3 stations itself, and considered to be paid area. The integrated station structure may contain several shops and small restaurants/fast foods for the passengers. Making it a big interchange complex but not like a common station on North Ave/EDSA.

That Recto area is really begging to be an interchange since its a meetup of 3 lines and will serve a large number of passengers daily. Making it efficient and integrate should be or I hope is always the goal.

I saw that the center island and fences were removed on the stretch of Espana between UST and Maceda. Is there a connection between that and the EWRP?

Maybe, in preparation for soil testing.
