Yeapp i think so. As you can see... the kampong are being relocated to some nearby very colourful flats. Anyone wit pics?

The condos look like a pistol so COOL! PISTOLS @ MidValley haha I want to recommend this name to the developer.

I really hope all these projects are build... maybe few years from now. Only problem is whether there're any demand for them?

For sure, that place will have traffic jam like hell...

REFURBISHMENT OF MENARA PERNAS

Atsa Architects

Design Approach

Option 4
In Option 2, we proposed a straight forward cladding of the building using a metal composite material. However, in this design we added a raised spine-like feature in the middle of the hexagonal building to raise its height of building and to create a roof top feature.

Option 6
In Option 6, an iconic design was proposed giving it a different outlook which can be identifiable amongst the many skyscrapers building indowntown Kuala Lumpur. The building will be covered with metal louvers covering all 8 sides of this octagonal shape building. The new building treatment has a “bullet” shape with a sharp dome like top. The open web like dome adds height to the building without actually adding floors to the building. The lightweight metal design cladding will also expressed a modern glittering building.

Refurbishment Hotel and Office Tower, Kuala Lumpur (I reckon this is Menara Li Fung)

Background Information

A development on a site of approximately 1.39 acres located just outside the KL CBD area. This project was designed in the early 1990ĺs and was abandoned in 1997/98. The new owners of the development wish to complete the building with a new modern facade treatment.

Design Approach

Constructed until the 18th floor, this project has been abandoned since 1997 due to economic crisis. It was originally designed for a commercial podium block with 2 attached tower consisting of an office and a hotel. Pending market study, the usage will now be alterted slightly, to cater for the present demand. The facade will be treated differently from the original design to give more modern and contemporary look. Solid and void are being played together with horizontal and vertical elements to give the structure a slick, clean and well defined expression.

Studio Office & Hotel Tower, Jalan Binjai, Kuala Lumpur

Background Information
A design proposal on a light urban site measuring only 0.4 acres located within the prestigious KLCC area in Kuala Lumpur. The KLCC area is undergoing a complete regeneration converting land use of many existing 2 storey bungalows to high rise super condos. This particular site is long and narrow and will be in future sandwiched with tall buildings. [READ THIS STATEMENT!!! ]

Design Approach
In this proposal, we took advantage of the long and narrow site to proposed a mixed used, SOHO Development to cater for the Young, Mobile, IT Savvy Local and Foreign population living in Kuala Lumpur. The first 3 floors will be zoned as commercial area ideal for a boutique business center. The subsequent 10 storeys will be used as a hotel /service apartments. The remaining 10 storeys will be designed as a SOHO units, (small office home office) to cater for medium stay business travelers.

Condominium Development Jalan Kuching, Kuala Lumpur

Background Information
The development is in a city site with a triangular shape, bordered by Jalan Kuching, Sungai Gombak and another high rise, Putra Apartment.

Design Approach
The proposed development consists of 2 tower blocks of 492 units condominium. The towers are separated by an L-shape, 4 levels parking podium with all the facilities on top. The orientation of the blocks are arranged in such a way to maximize the surrounding areas of Kuala Lumpur. For the fašade treatment, screening elements are introduced to the skin of the building, to protect it from the harsh weather and to hide certain elements such air conditioner compressor unit.

Urban Renewal Development, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

Sri Damansara Condominium, Selangor (I reckon this is one of TA Properties' upcoming Sri Damansara project. Land clearing underway)

Parcel A
A design proposal on 2 parcels of land for a high-end condominium development located at the outskirts of the Kuala Lumpur. Parcel A will consists of a tower block that rises 30-storey with 240 units of apartments with 4 storey 88 units low rise apartments. Each parcel will have a swimming pool, club house and tennis court. We used various sun shading devices to ensure that these apartments units respond very well in over hot and humid climate.

Parcel B
Parcel B is located on the smaller of the two plots which also accommodate a 30 storey tower with separate amenities. Similar in its design to Parcel A, this single tower block provides for 240 unit apartments.

The Future of KL?

KLCC Development, Kuala Lumpur

Background Information
A design exercise initiative carried out by our office to explore design possibilities that would make the Kuala Lumpur Cite Center (KLCC) an exciting place to visit. Our exercise is aimed at enhancing the development value of the Kuala Lumpur City Center so it can be well known to the world due to its various attraction.

The 40 hectares or 100 acres KLCC development is one of the largest real estate development in the world. The master plan design was designed on the winning entry submitted by Klagas, Carter, Vail & Associates from the USA in 1990. It provides for 22 commercial plots of land to be located along the perimeter of a 50 acre central park. The central park, which is already completed, was designed by the renowned Brazilian Landscape Architect, Roberto Burle Marx. It was one of his last great works. The project started in 1997, with the building of once tallest building in the world; The Petronas Twin Towers (it is now the tallest twin towers in the world). In 2004, the following buildings are completed; The Twin Towers Shopping Center, Mandarin Hotel, a Mosque, Exxon Building and Maxis Tower. Under construction are the KL Convention Center, Exclusive High Rise Service Apartments and a Business Hotel .
