yeah, our price is very competitive, many korean and east asian do shop here instead of C21 in sg or bkk. according to the s.a. But as general more people shop in bkk then us.

The moment they setup their store without Alber, i don't really care about Lanvin anymore. i used to adore the masterpieces from the fashion house when it under him and now it closed, and i still don't care. I hope they don't open at any mall in KL. They killed LANVIN brand with their huge ego. And Alber as one of the adorable guy, cute and nerd became a victim with their cruel business movement.

Jesselton Duty Free, Jeeselton Mall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

This type of retail is non-existent in Peninsular Malaysia. Except in duty free island or duty free mall at Malaysian border. And usually it's not as proper as this. While country like Thailand even Singapore and Cambodia have their own fabulously design Duty Free mall even in city like Bangkok and Phuket. King Power really dominated the duty free market while T.Galleria in Singapore and Cambodia.

I hope this will be a new trend in Malaysia after the introducing of Premium Outlet format. Duty Free format really can amp up our current retail industry to greater height. It's not really convenient for Malaysian as this store shows that local can't buy perfume and cosmetics, but hey its much cheaper in Premium Outlet even if you buy from department store, you gonna get a voucher.

This Jesselton Duty Free is almost exactly like the DFS in Royal Plaza Singapore... This concept should definitely be made available in KL, Penang, and JB, and what better player to bring in than DFS themselves?

I remember DFS used to have an outlet in Crown Plaza Mutiara, but it closed down many years back and they haven’t returned to KL ever since...

Malaysia to host Council of Asian Shopping Centres (CASC) Conference 2019
Chin Wai Lun / EdgeProp.my May 16, 2019 18:39 pm +08

Quote:
KUALA LUMPUR (May 16): The city will host the Council of Asian Shopping Centres (CASC) Conference 2019 at the JW Marriott Hotel from Sept 10 to 12.

Themed ‘The Now and The Future – The Mall Story’, the conference which is organised by the Malaysian Shopping Malls Association (PPK Malaysia) aims to facilitate the exploration of retail opportunities and regional cooperation; exchange of insights and expertise; setting new retail trends as well as enhancing cross border networking among malls in the Asian region.

On the back of a challenging global economic slowdown, this year’s conference will focus on digitalisation technology, the future of Asian mall retail designs and iconic mall developments alongside regional developments in Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia and Japan.

“With these shifting trends, it is important that mall operators and retailers alike re-think retail trends and formats to bring the industry forward to another level.

Hence, PPK Malaysia is hosting the regional Council of Asian Shopping Centers (CASC) Conference 2019 for the shopping mall industry to understand the dynamics of new retail and how to future-proof the industry,” said PPK Malaysia president Tan Sri Teo Chiang Kok in a statement today.

Speakers who are expected at the event include Robert Stockdill, Author, Inside Retailing; Liew Mun Leong, Chairman, Changi Airport Group (operator of The Jewel, Singapore Airport); Caroline Murphy, Sr Executive Vice President, Siam Piwat (operator of ICONSIAM, Bangkok); and Toshihiko Takano, Director of GINZA SIX Retail Management (operator of Ginza Six, Tokyo).

The CASC Conference is an annual regional event involving mall industry experts from member countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Japan.

btw, quite old news ( a week old )

Takashimaya eyes opportunities in Southeast Asia

Three Southeast Asian countries are on Japanese department store operator’s radar.

Takashimaya says it is evaluating opportunities to open department stores in the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.

However, in an interview reported by Jiji Press, Takashimaya’s president Yoshio Murata said while new stores in those markets could be an option, the company’s priority now is to focus on “raising the profitability of the four stores” it already has in Southeast Asia and China.

Takashimaya opened a store in the IconSiam development in Bangkok late last year, adding to stores it already had in Shanghai, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City.

So basically we gonna have 2 vacant lots in the next 2-3 months for duplex array. I think dolce and bottega will make a cut. Please no more watch n jewellery there.

don't know where to post.

Qatar’s brilliant series of events starts showing results

...

Two weeks ago, on a charity /cultural / ‘state visit’ to Malaysia, HRH S. Moza reportedly reconfirmed that Kuala Lumpur will have the first ever Harrods Hotel in the world (no department store though) dubbed as the world’s most expensive hotel to have ever been built – rumours have been circulating for years.

Coach 1Utama just opened at new location previously Victoria's Secret lot. Much bigger and spacious and following next is furla. Since they having some minor renovation of their floor tiles (for every level i guess?), i still thinking white marble is not suitable for OU since they have kinda low ceiling and plain white should be compliment with another type of lights..
