What is really sad is that we have so many sectors that can produce strong growth but nothing is happening due to "human" errors... Too much dependency on minerals....

Lazy government...

It is up to the gov to keep growth red hot so developers are confident to be able to sell all their units (office/appts)
Nothing is for certain in DRC after over 15 years of JKabila's rule: democracy or autocracy, electricity & running water, end of presidential mandate, Matrix tour 10 floors or 30 floors, Rakeen Gare centrale project dead or still alive, will Kabila step down in November peacefully or a popular uprising must force him out....? He has no idea that this general chaotic climate of uncertainty he purposely engineered as an attempt to cling to power hurts the country more than anything else. God help us!

What a shame that the floors number has been reduced from 34 to 11. Hopefully the mall will live up to our expectations.

Shame indeed, tho it does not surprise me.
That's why I said I no longer care about tall buildings in Kin. .

Having unfinished buildings is the worst care scenario.

This mall will have no escalators but a circular ramp instead

Starting to feel like that bridge was built in a way to show off to the neighbors..."look what we got!"

Both governments would have built a bridge to link the two cities instead.

True ! The suspender cables of this “bridge to nowhere” are illuminated at night to impress the neighbor across the river… This showing off game has a tradition in Brazzaville. In 1982, the government borrowed money from the French oil company Elf Acquitaine to build the Nabemba Tower (106m/ 30 floors) with no apparent reason than to surpass the tallest building in Kinshasa, Sozacom. The tower has long had no particular use; it is now being used as headquarters for government ministries and NGOs. For its maintenance, the government has to fork out $3.6 million yearly…Very expensive whims while the country lacks roads, schools, hospitals, decent housing…

Congo Brazza obsessed with showing off....Im certain Maya Maya Airport and Kintele stadium (while Massamba stadium 33k seats could have been renovated and serve well).

Shame they usually impress on wrong things.

Congo-brazza may charge us the same accusation. ....I remember back in the day how the CCIZ sign atop the CCIZ building (the current hotel du fleuve bldg) was so powerfully well lit at night that it impressed everyone. ...people looked upon this building with envy on the Brazza side.....

For me living at OMS regional headquarters for Africa in Brazzaville upscale neighborhood, it gave a sense of pride for us Zairois at the time. ...
