But since this is about Kobe, be a rebel and go off the beaten path. Visit Kobe.
Kobe also has European "flair" in towards the hill area at the Ijinkan (barbarian houses). They were both treaty ports. The Chinatown in Kobe is a bit nicer than the one in Nagasaki.

because people living in Japan see Japan every day and want to see something different with out spending alot of money traveling to Europe. That's why theme parks and theme towns like these are popular.

No fight needed on that one. BOTH are beautiful cities. Certainly two of my favorites.

Kobe is bigger with close access to Osaka/Kyoto. So, it's easier to combine with even more things to do.

I think on a PURELY touristic level, Nagasaki is incredibly easy to get around, very beautiful, and offers a lot to see. I'd almost say Nagasaki for a tourist. Particularly if limited time, or first time in Japan. It's just an easy city to get around.

Kobe is one of those cities that is really nice and very beautiful. But, not a whole lot to offer a tourist. It's one of those cities that is great for living in, and offers a lot to longterm expats in Japan.

I love the takeoff video! It's amazing how green Kobe looks compared to Osaka!
