Kyoutendouchi, is that correct? Amazing? Don't know a lot of japanese, but I'm trying :P.

Do you happen to have more pictures of downtown at night? When i went a typhoon was coming/hit, so it was real nasty and wet most of the time I was there, so didn't get a lot of pics. :[

I particularly like photos #4, #13 and #14, are those actual woodlands within the city?

hey, I remember seeing the tall pagoda in that big picture from last page when I was passing by in the shinkansen. It was very striking. Kyoto is truely a historic city, comparable to Quebec of Canada and Kyongju of S.Korea (all favorite targets for school trips)

i think kyoto is older then quebec >_>

Quebec (founded 400 years ago or so), has much less historical depth than kyoto.. but for canadians, it's nonetheless 'highly historical' .

This being said: Quebec is actually not bad, feels a bit like a 'young' carcassonne..
