If I'm not living on the top floor I don't care. Actually, buildings without balconies tend to look better than (modern) buildings with so I might just be against them.

I wish I used mine more often. But I'm in a cold weather region. So for about s 4-5 months of the year it's not very comfortable.

Mi city, Mazatlán, in northwestern Mexico is so hot and humid during summers (now ) that a balcony in your house in esential!

It is also part of our architectural heritage, most of out historical buildings have balconies, they didnt had AC back in the time, so the balcony were like an AC:

It's a deal breaker for me. If it's not deep enough, lacks solid walls (glass isn't acceptable), or isn't shielded enough from wind I won't buy. I live in downtown Toronto so it's the only outdoor space of my own. I eat out there 5 months of the year so it needs to be suitable for dinner and friends (4 people minimum).

A small balcony to hang out washing is sufficient for me.

I'm not a fan of huge balconies that encourage outdoor entertaining - it means you have to put up with lots of noise from loud mouthed neighbours.

If the balconies are not considered as part of the design , as most modern buildings are incredibly poorly considered and designed, then sure I agree. But balconies are not to be blamed for poor modern architecture skills.

I think the balconies on this thin tower in dublin improve it aesthetically.

Balconies considerd as part of design can look great.

Also many lovely examples of balconies on modern buildings in the german neo traditional architecture threads in the european classical architecture section o the forum.
But unfortunately the vast majority of modern apartments are this kind of shit

Very important. I think it is necessary to not just be able to open a widow to the outisde, but to let air flow through the house.

Balcony and Patio are must have on my home shopping list. I have both in my current house and I enjoy spending time reading and gardening out there.

Balconies are cool, but it has to have a sufficiently-heighted (is that proper grammar?) wall so I don't fall from it.
