Looking back at this thread, this time last year this piece of ground was still totally flat! Wow.

Been following this avidly and am so pleased for Brentford as an unfashionable medium sized football club that gets feck all recognition (being a Charlton fan I get it!).

Are we expecting that awful trend for multicoloured seats? It would be great if they were just Brentford red, with some tasteful club logo/name picked out.

Wow! That progress is amazing. Go Brentford!

Ps. I say this as a West Ham fan.

Really like this stadium. A new creative design, much better than the euro bowl design like mk dons, Coventry and Leicester etc...

Remodel half of Leicester Tigers' Welford Road stadium and it's almost identikit to the new Brentford stadium.

Yeah, same architect. If Welford Road was fully redeveloped:

Can tell a man designed this, he left the seat up...

Just seen pictures of the seats going in. Red, burgundy, yellow, green and off white. Oh dear...

Apologies, I didn't mean the actual seats going in, I meant renders...

I am guessing as this was from Dec 2018, these are the actual seat designs.

One year from now Brentford FC will be playing in a new stadium and many of the finishing touches are now being applied. The pitch at Brentford Community Stadium is being laid and work is underway on the internal parts of our new home.

The external construction is now mostly complete and the internal fit out of the stands is also underway.

Over the coming months the pitch construction - designed to provide a playing surface for football and rugby union - will be complete and our premium lounges will be finished. There will be the installation of big screens and all the seats will be put in to place.

Defintely got the old budget English football ground feel to it. Its great for Brentford so not a criticism but there isn't a lot of finesse in the design..

The immediate area is extremely ugly so I would have hoped they would have least made the stadium taller to fit more seats. Sadly they built small and the chief of the development said future expansion would be difficult and not make sense financially.

I think if your going to go for cheap and cheerful (like the roof) then there are ways to make it look less industrial estate and give it a bit of charachter (they manage it in Germany, France etc)..

I think they were just going for industrial estate. It is an odd area. Those hideous brutalist towers along Green Dragon Lane - they too are very respected - not by people who live in them - but by some local Brentfordians who think they make an 'important statement.' Very political..

Its also a stones throw from Kew Bridge, Chiswick Village, Brentford riverside, it just could have been a little bit better with some nicer detailing..

I must be in the minority when I say that I really like this stadium, the shape/design of it first and foremost, because it's interesting and different - but I think it is receiving a bad finish.

The internal roof structure, the seats etc. All horrific choices for me.

I know it's perhaps bad to judge a building on its finish before it actually is "finished", but at the moment I feel like they had a nice cake and then iced it with poo.

Bit of a wobbly video inside the new stadium:

The Twitter link option on here doesn't work too well!
