Buffalo Development News

Not to worry. None of this will happen until it reaches the “end of its useful life” The current rehab is supposed to extend its useful life another 25 years. So basically the State is saying we might consider something like this 25 years from now. Then again the State might not,

I wouldn't call the an entire freeway. It's a connector between Route 5 and I-190.

Leaving a portion there maintains the views everyone raves about. I do like the idea of a park and it would be quite the unique structure. The alternatives are leave it the way it is or demo entirely, which would still require the same adjustments to traffic outlined, just without the bells and whistles.

I'm kind of a fan of it. Also, that god-damned duck was in Buffalo for one weekend years ago now. Why is it in the rendering?

Someone posted this on Facebook. I'm not sure this is Ellicott's selected or final design but it sure looks like their project at Elmwood/Delavan with some changes.

They're tweaking the color scheme...

This looks great! That corner was always dumpy with that gas station.

Elmwood & Hertel could use something like this to fill the empty corners.

Looks like a pretty cool project. I like how they have it set up with parking underneath and how the "grass"/"fairway" looks to just be some kind of fabric you can see through, and everything gets funneled down through the parking structure.

OnCore Golf To Open $30 Million Sports Entertainment Complex In Buffalo, With More Planned

PS: Why not take this idea and combine it with a new downtown stadium. Another use for such facility...

According to the article, the tee boxes will be heated and the netting will be designed to block the wind. I would assume they are going to heat the range field as well.

I know there is some big news today with the OnCore news but just biked by Trico, lots of workers working on windows. Even caught one being installed. It's finally happening!

With all these windows installed it's going to look incredible.

This is something very unique to the northeast I believe ....... so i am a fan of this project. Hopefully it truly does get built.

While this isnt disney world, its definitely a good start to bring more people downtown.

It just goes to show that usually, hometown money will fund and develop hometown projects. It's not always the case, but a lot of times it is. We shouldn't have to rely on developers from Boston, NYC, Texas, Chicago or DC to go to Buffalo and try to transform the region. First, Buffalo needs the individuals and companies to do things like this. Besides KeyBank, we don't have them yet.
