I dont imagine in whole my life that one day nyc will have a 6 buildings exceeding the roof of the empire state building , now we have 1wtc , ctp , steinway tower , one vandy and 432 park avenue and 30hudson yards .
I think that around 2025 esb will hold 11th tallest building in new york .

It has about 100 real floors but when towers have higher ceilings than usual they often up the number to compensate, or give the effect of the real height. It's better marketing I guess. The highest floors of this building are nearly 450 meters up, going off typical ceiling heights that's about 130 floors.

Tons of buildings do this, as the general public seem to not realize floor height is a variable, not fixed.

Actually, 132 floors equivalent. BUT, there are many tall floors and ceilings. So, the number of floors are reduced just short of 100. HOWEVER, to understand the height in a standard and habitual way, think of this building as a 132 story building. In fact, you can see that in the earlier pages of this forum where many architectural designs --particularly the ones with texts in Chinese or Japanese (or Korean??), where the floor equivalents are counted as 132.

Lincolnlover, any chance you could design for us an affordable supertall residential?

I took that Ferry several years ago and, oh man, how much better it has gotten!

How lucky you are to get to enjoy that view on a daily basis!

[QUOTE=streetscapeer;162512362]...last picture post...I wont repost picture.... but that might be one of the most impressive pictures I've ever seen on here, I especially love the way the highest tree from bottom to top becomes a taller tree, then a church spire, then a skyscraper.

Other Towers looks so small next to it, even WTC.

Hmm, what do you mean with WTC? One WTC? On Skyscraperpage/ side-by side? Viewed further away from WTC than from CPT? Then perspective would have to be factored in.

Well, CPT really makes the closer surrounding towers seem small, especially 111 West 57th Street (Steinway) with its out-thinning profile when you know how tall that already is, except for maybe the wider 432 PA (it kind of fulfilled that role earlier).

CPT's parapet is located 55.4 m (472.4 - 417) or 7.5% higher than One WTC's.
Its highest occupiable floor is 55.5 m (442 - 386.5) or 6.96% higher.

One WTC has almost triple the GFA (325,279 m▓ / 119,409 m▓ = ~2.72) and probably also as much more volume which extends on more than 400 m, so not really small in my book.

Maybe you meant another tower of the Complex, 3 WTC might fit that description. Empire State Building even with its mast and antenna is still 29.17 m or rather 91.4 m short of it. But when you only take the part with significant cross section you get a main building mass of about 330 m, which is comparable to 3 WTC. Then it really becomes clear that CPT is visually dominating in Midtown, while not in volume, it is in height.
