As brian said 165 billion shillings will be invested in Nakuru county.

So a Level 5 referral hospital with a cancer center, heart and dialysis centers.

But the plan for a 50,000 seater convention center just doesn't sound right to me not only will it be "Africa's Largest Convention Center" but it will also enter to be one of the largest convention centers worldwide. Maybe the reporter didn't know her math and meant 5,000. I would have liked to hear the american investors speak about the project and offer full details.

When it comes to convention centers, the only numbers that matter are floor size, and not the "seating capacity". We will truly know how big this proposed convention center is when the floor size (whether in square meters or feet) is announced. If its a 1 million + square foot convention center, with all the financing and permitting in place, then we can start celebrating.

Nakuru County Gov.

I'll await the full details to be released by the county government or the media.

You're right andegwa unless they were talking about a stadium. Judging from the renders it looks like it will be similar to the Calabar Convention Center.

I got a few more details looks like the hospital and probably the convention center will be financed by Ibex Initiatives Inc...

Plus many other american companies have shown interest in the Nakuru county "Green Fuel solutions, Arc Angle Global Media, Biometric ID and Identity Management Solutions and Rosenthal Group."

That convention center better be awesome. They better not spend 165B on the renders above.
Sounds too good to be true. But great news if it materializes!!. A lot of counties have been hyping all these investments MOUs but nothing to date.So allow me to be a little bit skeptical.

Exactly! MOU is a hyping word. I am privy to the said company to invest in hospital. I am not sure about their capacity but they are not yet funded for proposed project.

Which hotel? If you meant the proposed convention Center then I do not have the link. If you are referring to lake Nakuru sopa logdes then you can be linked by searching keywords "sopa logdes lake nakuru" on Google. You can find more info and pictures under sopalogdes.com website. Apologies if my link didn't work on your end.

So KAA has announced it is proceeding with the development of an airport in Nakuru at Pipeline including an aviation academy. The land has been secured. They have issued a caveat emptor on the land, I guess Kenyans were at their best trying to sell land that is not theirs. http://www.scribd.com/doc/288311103/KAA-Caveat

Corruption should be so expensive to be involved in, that would make it extremely difficult for people to engage in dishonest activities.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has begun the implementation of the Sh2.7 billion highway improvement project in Nakuru County.

The 15-month project involves construction of three interchanges at Kunste, Soilo and Mau Summit junctions whose completion is expected to ease traffic and curb accidents.

“There has always been conflict of traffic in these areas which had to be solved through this development,” said KeNHA corporate affairs manager Charles Njogu during a phone interview on Monday.

The project which began in February this year is scheduled to be complete in May, 2016.

Upon completion, motorists driving from Nyahururu will branch off to Nakuru town from Kunste area instead of driving about 20 meters away before joining the head- to -town lane.

Its design also prevents vehicles from Western region from colliding into those joining Nakuru Road from Njoro at Soilo junction.

The interchange at Mau Summit will equally serve as a buffer zone for motorists heading to Kericho or coming from Njoro and Mau Narok.

Njogu said they plan to relocate hawkers at the Mau Summit to allow a smooth progress of the construction works.

Looks like this project is one the move.

Time to remove height restrictions for Nakuru. It doesn't make sense for Eldy having taller structures when they share the same geological composition save for the Menengai crater ( potential active volcano).

Not advisable, if the aquifers were polluted it will affect Fauna of the surrounding lakes and who knows how industrial chemicals would react with the seismic activities around this area

I don't see the relation between skyscrapers and polluting aquifers and industrial chemicals.

Buildings dont pollute the environment however the excavation process, chemical binders and in case of a sewage leak could pose a risk.
