Support is growing for a 114 foot high statue which would overlook the M6 at Stoke-on-Trent.

Rugeley Power Station will take 3 years to decontaminate and 2 years to redevelop.

Possible replacements include a gas plant or residential.

In my opinion if it is residential, then Rugeley Trent Valley should be relocated to Handsacre, and the train line through the power station linked up to this, with an intermediate station at the power station site.

Is there much land surrounding Amazon DC? can see them having an interest in taking some land to cover any future requirements

Amazon is directly adjacent to the power station with just a train line (goods for the power station) between them. No land at Amazon side but they could easily take land from the power station, yes. Maybe even have a rail freight terminal here.

You could probably fit about 20 Amazons on the power station site!

Btw regarding the story above, I suspect Telford's Next store will be like the one in Tamworth. It's quite impressive these days...though Ventura Park continues to kill the Town Centre off. Smyths Toys are taking Next's old Ventura Park, Tamworth store.

Good news for the capital of Mercia haha. It seems to punch above its weight retail wise, even if not always in the town centre. I wish I knew the place better.

I don't know Ventura Park but I know there is a pretty big Next including home store and Costa on a retail park less than a mile away from here but they have/are investing in both. So hopefully both can survive...

Just wish there was a better Road layout. The current situation is not really an asset to the Town except in Financial terms. To be honest I'm not a fan of how close to the Town Ventura is either but what can you do?

This seems good News for the Ancient Capital Of Mercia though.
