I've posted a closed sticky thread in the Transport sub-forum called Midlands Connect. I will post any updates in it but it will be kept as a reference only thread.

Any of the individual projects will still have their own threads which can be posted in.

Yes, I thought the same. It's not in one of the city centre wards and the media didn't pick up on it at the time.

Just a quick mention from tonight's event, the director of Glenn Howells told me, PB and Mos that Kent Street Baths design hasn't changed, they are just polishing it up

Good news and nice to finally meet you Reiss, albeit rather briefly.

Hope you enjoyed the event. Thought it was really good and provoked some interesting debate.

So are they still going to increase the number of units from 504 to 580?

Apparently no. He denied any changes referred to in the Birmingham Mail article from the spring and said that it's still as per the approved planning application.

We spoke to the Director of Moda Living but he wouldn't spill the beans on Great Charles Street. However he said that they're in extensive pre-app talks with the council and that Glenn Howells won't be involved in this one. Shouldn't be long!

ALSO, Moda are looking at THIRD and FOURTH site in Brum

Funding secured to Fix the Floozie in the Jacuzzi

Leader of Birmingham City Council confirms work to start next year

The Leader of Birmingham City Council has confirmed the renewal of The River fountain, more commonly known as the Floozie in the Jacuzzi, will go ahead after the German Market comes down.

In an email seen by I Choose Birmingham Ian Ward said: "The refurbishment of Victoria Square and the fountain is something that I believe to be important in terms of the quality of the public realm and the ongoing development and investment in the City Centre. Therefore I am pleased to inform you that we have secured funding for the renewal of both the square and the fountain. Work will begin in the New Year once the German Market stalls are removed."

The Floozie hasn't flown since 2013 due to a recurring a water leak. It has been filled with soil and bedding plants for the last six years.

Designed by by Dhruva Mistry The Floozie was was completed in 1994, when the square was officially reopened by Diana, Princess of Wales.

Those of you that follow us on Twitter will known that we've campaigned hard for the Floozie to flow once more in increasingly ludicrous manner.

And if you've read this far you really should subscribe to our weekly email about the best thinsg to do in Birmingham, below. It's free and it's really rather good.

Great news that! Especially when the whole area (paradise) is finished. Be nice of them to light up the Council house & Town Hall at night too.

Well, that's a good enough excuse to dredge up this gold dust from 2006

Did we ever settle on whether to create a thread with the general topic 'anyone know what's going on here'? I'd like to ask that about what's going on here:

Looks to be at the Bomb site. No idea what's happening.

'Anyone know what's going on here' thread? First I've heard of it. If others want it, then we shall have it. Seems though that it's a question that doesn't crop up very often and the Official Birmingham thread is probably as good a place as any to ask that question.

Is anyone else having problems uploading images to Flickr? I went on a beautiful canal/ city centre walk last week and took a few photos of the developments.

Really struggling to upload them, I'll keep trying though.

Birmingham continues to rank highly in terms of deprivation as the 'English Indices of Deprivation 2019' have been released today (scroll down).

I have created a thread where you can access all the information in the City Talk forum.

I’m just wondering what our collective thoughts are on photos being reposted from SSCers onto Twitter (@GtrBhamDev), more specifically without any credit?

I could be wrong but I thought PB, Reiss & Mosleyan were behind @GtrBhamDev?

No issues with it at all, is a natural progression and evolution of the forum in my view
