Exactly. One guy said something negative about texas in a stadium thread and all us Taxans rose up like a never ending darkness!

SO, In Dallas, it seems allot is going on on northeast Downtown.

News and renderings and whose running this ship and yes its the Turkish Trump and he is no longer working for the company who bought 1401 Elm Place. He is instead working on this project and they are currently working on getting tax credits to pay for the historical facade redo. They also say he is in talks with a charter school and looking for partners for a extended stay hotel planned for the project.

Turk Who Was Going to Redo 1401 Elm Now Has Big Plans For the Very Big 500 S. Ervay

Work Begins on 500 South Ervay

All the above into thanks to cowboyeagle05 of the DFW Uraban Forum.

Some more information about the planned developments going on in Las Colinas. I think the project is on-hold if not cancelled but the website is still up so it's worth a look.

I wasn't aware of the hiccup with 1401 Elm. Hope for the best on that one.

Need more posters on there for it actually to work. The problem over the years is that there hasn't been too many Texans on this forum. Hopefully, this works and I always felt Texas needed one. Texas is not in the Southeast.

I guess the deal with Texas forumers is that there are already entire forum sites devoted to Houston(HAIF) and Dallas(Dallas Metropolis) urban news and SSC and its cousins SSP and CityData have to compete with them.

Developers in Las Colinas have had to revision

All that huge amount of planned construction in Las Colinas was dependent on DART building the rail stations by 2011. Instead, DART has proven that it can't be depended on to make Transit Oriented Developments work. If the stations had have been built in the Urban center (downtown) in 2011 like planned, then developers would have had no reason to doubt the construction of further stations and the completion of the line all the way to DFW airport. During the time when DART was faltering, if you will think back, it began dreaming about a second line in downtown Dallas as well as a more direct stop to Love Field. But the most important extension as it sits today is a direct link up with DFW airport.
Time to get the whip out.
One can't blame developers for doubting DART. They've got to see enough progress by the agency on the full extension of the orange line all the way to DFW airport before committing any resources to the planned development.
Las Colinas was the first Transit Oriented Development in perhaps the whole United States. I think developers are waiting on the planned entertainment development. Strong forces have been at work in the metropolitan area (Jerry Jones and others) trying to lobby the state of Texas to block this development. But Irving and Las Colinas are its own city with deep pockets. It's going to happen.
