Developer gets financing, hires contractor to finish stalled Stoneleigh condo tower project

STEVE BROWN The Dallas Morning News [email protected] Published: 14 February 2012 06:54 AM http://www.dallasnews.com/business/r...r-project.ece#

As promised, developers are moving ahead with plans to restart a stalled Dallas condo tower.

The partly built Stoneleigh highrise in Uptown has been idled for more than three years. The building was planned as a companion to the historic Stoneleigh Hotel.

Developer Mehrdad Moayedi – who bought the unfinished project out of bankruptcy – has obtained financing to complete the building and has hired a general contractor to do the work, records show.

The 22-story luxury condo building will have about 75 units when work crews finish the project.

There's also a 378-unit apartment building going in across the street.

5 stories along the western edge near the DART station. A similar apartment project a few blocks the other way was also announced today: http://www.dallasnews.com/business/c...ar-victory.ece

Tell me again why it's been like pulling teeth to get a Texas forum going, especially since there is more happening in Texas than most regions ?

Very sorry to hear that. Hope everything works out. But I didn't mean this week. I know that Texans have been clamoring for it for awhile now.

I hear they've been waiting for years. A few more weeks (hopefully not much longer) shouldn't be too difficult.
