ADMIN THREAD - Contact Moderators, Thread Title Change Requests, Members Suggestions, etc

Guys as in previous new sub-forums I suggest that anyone who wants a thread moving, renaming, or posts moving around - please post the links and the requests into this thread. You'll find that things will happen by request rather more swiftly than debate mixed in amongst other places... so once you are sure what you want - please put it in here and either myself or Woodhousen will sort it out for you.

See also, 'Post 15' for more details.

.

Yes, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS! But, please do make that change for everything that says Teeside to "Teesside". That'd be great.

Thank You also for moving all the threads to do with Teesside into this one.

Also, only a minor thing, but if its possible. On the description of the Teesside thread, would it be possible to add Durham into that, as Darlington is Teesside but officially classed as County Durham.

P.S. Just realised it says it for Sunderland, could just add Darlington in? As many people don't see Darlington as Teesside more Tees Valley.

If its not possible thats fine.

Two good ones to start with!

TEMENOS:

An interesting project (I have been following this amazing Art Structure for a while) and difficult to know when something like this can be classed as 'topped out', but I agree that the tallest part of it has now reached its highest point - so I suppose it is topped out!

Thread title changed.

CIAC:

The demolition part of the project appears to be now underway, but whether it can technically be classed as "U/C" or not, as there is some doubt as to when actual construction will start.

However, as there is 'heavy plant' on site (and there has been a photo of "men with spades" in the paper!!) and as demolition is really just the first stage of the construction process, then I think we should be safe to amend the title! We should keep an eye on it though.

Thread title changed.

Ok, Thank You. Good to here you have an interest in these projects. I'll keep posted on here if any status changes with them.

With CIAC, there isn't any demolition (well there hasn't been for 20+ years) as its been an empty site for all of my life. The buildings that are being demolished that are being discussed in the CIAC thread is to make way for future phases which are probably at least 10+ years off if we are lucky!

Dunning Road Development needs changing to 'On Hold'. Seeing as it's a temp car park for the time being.

All FORUM CHANGES - Feedback, Suggestions, Thread Amendments, Announcements, etc

.
.

WE SHOULD CONSTANTLY REVIEW OUR SUB-FORUM, AND DISCUSS AMONGST OURSELVES IF IT IS MEETING OUR INDIVIDUAL AND COLLECTIVE NEEDS . .

It was quite a long time coming, but we finally got our own North East England sub-forum (with its four internal forums) on 14th October 2009.

Since then, in my opinion, we have grown well, and have gone from strength to strength.

However, not everyone on here might feel that it is working (for them) quite as well as I think it is?

The idea of this thread is to use it as a place where we can all come together to discuss and praise and criticise, or whatever, and "plan together" for the future of our forum.

I think this would be a very useful tool, somewhere where we can pool all our thoughts and ideas all in one place.

I will also use this thread myself, as forum moderator, to make any announcements or points that I may need to make, from time to time.

There is a similar thread on all four of our ‘internal’ forums, within the North East England main sub-forum, and I hope you will make use of this one (on YOUR forum) to express your views, opinions and ideas!

An important reminder about the posting of images
into threads on Skyscraper City . . .

This note is posted here in order to EMPHASISE the post by Jan, that is currently in the "announcements" section above our forum.

Announcements are not there permanently, and I feel this important message should be retained permanently somewhere on our forum, and this thread is the logical place for it.

The announcement, dated May 12th 2010 from Jan (Administrator) is . . .

.
Clarification of the "suffixes" that we use on Skyscraper City, within our PROJECT THREAD TITLES.

As I understand it, they are . .

Pre-planning - Project is still in the design and consultation phase

Proposed - Project has been submitted for planning permission

Approved - Project has been approved by Planning

Demolition - Demolition underway on site

Preparation - Site clearance/excavation/piling/foundations

U/C - Core and superstructure rising (ie, Under Construction)

T/O - Topped Out. The tower or other building, has reached its maximum height

Completed - Internally and externally complete.

Postponed - Where work ceases temporarily.

Cancelled - Complete and permanent cancellation of Project.

Is the above how other people see it?

Are there any other suffixes we use or should be using?
