Naaa, not too much height. 1 Basement level and 4 levels above. (Ground + 3)

A very tight site, hoping to start in April, Architects are Louis Karol!

Is that for the 5 000 square metre building, or the Chevron building?

The Chevron Building, although it's footprint is also exactly 5000m2?? Are they not the same?

I'm reopening this thread, since the plan for the extension of the Bridgeways Precinct into Ratanga Junction has been revealed. They're looking at turning Ratanga into a mixed-use, pedestrian-friendly area along the lines of the current Bridgeways precinct.

More info here.

Some screen grabs:

Perhaps not a bad idea - I like the idea of the mix of resi.
Rantanga always struggled, though I DO still think that a theme/amusement park will always be a great park of the mix for visitors - especially domestic ones.
Maybe GrandWest has expansion space to take some of the rides?

There is quite a bit of space around the church building as well.

The area is used for a play park, and a parking space for the gym & church.

According to the above images, there seems to be no plans to redevelop the area?

Ratanga closing 1st May 2018

Ratanga to be redeveloped into vibrant mixed use precinct

Source: http://www.rabie.co.za/ratanga-to-be...-use-precinct/

Quote:
Ratanga Junction theme park, which is to close on 1 May 2018, is to be redeveloped into a vibrant new mixed-use development.

While planning is still at an embryonic stage, it is envisaged the redevelopment will embrace the existing canals, island and public open space and will include residential apartments, offices, hotels, restaurants and convenience retail.

Rabie Property Group, the developer of Century City, has applied to the Cape Town Municipality to amend the Century City Development Framework and Bridgeways Precinct Plan to enable the redevelopment to take place.
