Interesting names, I haven't heard those before.

Well if you look at it this way then you are the troll, not me.... Obviously his name is not Taras Bulba, cause Taras Bulba was a famous Ukrainian (not sure who he was)....That is why I said that, I DONT KNOW HIS NAME and that was his nick, so ye, sorry if I offended you.....second, Im not saying taht all Poles should call it Lwow, personally I dont care wahtever.... I have bigger worries....all Im saying is that to a Hungarian, Austrian, German it will be Lemberg, to a Ukrainian it will be L'viv, to a Russian it will be Lvov. and to a Pole it will be Lwow....I dont see anything wrong with Poles calling it Lwow, if you do then that is your problem.Btw I wonder if a German or a Russian would refer to it as L'viv in a conversation, yet you are getting mad at us calling it Lwow (Even Ukies here in Canada refer to it as Lwow, when u ask them where they are from). Anyways Taras Bulba, dont take my post the wrong way, and if you do then that is too bad, but still Im interested in hearing an answer from you.

^ Ukrainians in Canada don't call Lviv "Lwow", I don't know who you're talking to.

Also, I'm pretty sure Lviv is known as Lviv in German speaking countries. When it was in the Austro-Hungarian empire, it was known as Lemberg, but nowadays, even in those countries people know it Lviv.

That said, I don't have a problem with Polish or Russian version. It's just a part of their language. For example in Spanish, people don't say New York, but Nueva York. It's the same concept.

ANYWAY, everyone back on topic.

I would imagine the Citadel would include a museum about weapons, Middle Ages, etc.

Not sure if you saw my questions on previous pages, but we got a budget for this project, and I was wondering how it compares to the ones they've done in Poland. Someone mentioned the best castle reconstruction was in Warsaw, do you know what the budget was for that?

I think it's important they have a budget that will allow them to replicate it as closely to the original as possible, and not making it look tacky or "cheap".

I had no idea what was the budget- anyway You can not compare it, becouse the reconstruction was done in 70's and 80's.

Also note that they've reconstructed the interiors, which will be impossible in case of Lviv castle- no documentation (although You can try to recreate the interiors, to look let's say 'medieval' - like for example in case of Trakai castle)

I see. Well, thanks anyway. Hopefully it turns out alright.

what about the mound? obviously it is going to be destroyed to make room for the castle. don't you think it has some historical significance? or maybe you treat it as some Polish nationalist symbol and wanted to get rid of it anyway? I don't mean to be spiteful. just a question.

It's not going to be destroyed. Look at the diagrams on the first page.

Well the current location does have some ruins left over, I am not sure if they will be destroyed, but most likely they will, and a new castle will be built in its place. I believe this is the project that has received the most criticism from the citizens of Lviv as there is no ‘real’ model to follow to build this new castle.
