It is happening for sure, I think the tower might have more than just 18 floors, the design do not show much except the architectural shape.

It is certainly astonishing tower with beautiful design and location.

Emaar surely aiming to replicate downtown success in Dubai creek area

This one is happening for sure guys
You're totally right. The Tower in the Dubai Creek Harbour is the same as Burj Khalifa in Downtown Dubai. First, the tallest skyscraper starts construction, then the city grows around it This project is just the beginning of many others to come

Some of the other potential choices in models.

What about funding? How is this project being financed?

It was so long ago I can't remember, but didn't the the downtown project start with a WHOLE lot of offplan sales? I know the residences were constructed some time before the burj was completed.

This can not be considered skyscraper , because a number of wires support the structure , as any telecommunications antenna .

I am a bit underwhelmed as I have to admit I have a skyscraper (building) bias as opposed to liking towers. Towers just seem too easy. In Kuala Lumpur, for example, there are the Petronas Towers (skyscrapers)--Wow! And then there is KL Tower (a tower)--OK. And there is that huge Shanghai tower with the big ball in the middle which looks pretty ridiculous. At least this tower looks like it will be rather spectacular, so that could almost make up for not being a real building. We'll see.

So just to confirm, this is replacing the twin towers that were going to be built at Dubai Creek Harbour?

I tried to calculate the height of the tower using the model we can see around 0:15 in the video, and it is rougly 925m tall. Doesn't look like they are trying to rival Kingdom Tower at all.

I doubt Emaar will be this dumb tbh ... 925m is a joke if it was true I mean they need 70 more meters to take on Jeddah Tower. Plus it is marketed as the new tallest It is possible that renders we got aren't accurate

Not at all. The video has decent quality and the footage of the tower's scale model is the best we've had so far IMO. I used the photo matching function of SketchUp to create a simple 3D model of the area and the tower, and then matched it with Google Earth screenshots. Of course this technique is not that preciese, but an offset of more than 50 meters in either direction would be surprising to me.
This being said, it is also possible that the model was intentionally not built to scale so the final height remains a mystery like it was with the Burj back in the days. All I'm saying is that this model is most likely not showing a new world's tallest tower. What will actually be build is probably different, and hopefully taller

emmar didn't said anything about the height of this tower but when Dubai is the land of the best , biggest and tallest , It can overtake from KINGDOME TOWER and be the tallest tower forever !
