Yeh there was a close up picture of the ferris wheel but I didn't bother posting it as it's got nothing to do with tower blocks. The whole fun fair is still there rotting away.

Found 2 pictures of Sao Paulo. Very dense.

I also found this cool video of 16 blocks near Hong Kong being demolished all simultaneously.

I always think places like Sao Paulo are almost too much to take in!

Great video - I love how the blocks fell forwards like dominoes rather than into themselves like they do here. I was wondering why they were being demolished but of course, Hong Kong want better and far bigger!

Martigny looks lovely, tower block paradise!

You are aware of the Commieblocks fanclub on Euroscrapers are you? A whole section, not just a thread devoted to Tower Blocks

I've been through some of those threads before but they don't exactly move very fast so I created this thread for us handful of British peeps who know each other to chat and drool over what the world has to offer.

Martigny's tower blocks aren't exactly very tall but there's lots of them all at pretty much the same height. I went through Martigny in August 2004 on the way back to Chamonix and was impressed with its large amount of towerish blocks, of which you get some good views as you drive up the steep winding roads out of the town.

Wow, the first bunch remind me of Marina City in Chicago - which is, in some sorts, a tower block itself.

Love them! AKA the "Corn Cob" buildings or something.

The lot in photo #4 of Blok's photos remind me of West Bromwich tower blocks.

I'll take some photos of Shrewsbury's tower block cluster in a couple of days, I say tower block, they're only six storeys but it's as close as there is round here!

Those Corn on the Cob buildings in Katowice and Chicago rock

Velp, the town where I live:

Those are on the outskirts, this is bang in the middle:

'Orrible! Grand mansions, hotels, all torn down for crap like this.

Arnhem:

Thank God, a lot is being demolished. There was a notorious student tower in Amsterdam-Noord. Sometimes you'd see someone jumping from it!

Sounds good to me. However, the tallest I've seen in Shrewsbury is only about four storeys but they had balconies and were grey so scored well with me. Maybe they're the blocks you mean.

EDIT: Although post your photos in the British Tower Blocks thread on the Skylines and Photography forum. Unless you mean Shrewsbury, Massachusetts of course.
