Thanks metrogogo and I'm glad I asked because the interior is wonderful.

Especially like this snap too.

Another selection of interior of the BM&AG starting off with the Staffordshire Hoard Gallery and its contents.

Staffordshire Hoard
The Staffordshire Hoard is the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver metalwork yet found. It consists of over 3,500 items, amounting to a total of 5.1 kg of gold, 1.4 kg of silver and some 3,500 pieces of garnet cloisonné jewellery.

The hoard was most likely deposited in the 8th or 9th century, containing mostly artefacts dated to the 7th to early 8th centuries, with some of its sword pommels possibly as old as the mid 6th century. It was discovered in 2009 in a field near the village of Hammerwich, near Lichfield, in Staffordshire, England. The location was in the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia at the time of the hoard's deposition.

The hoard is of considerable importance in Anglo-Saxon archaeology. The artefacts are nearly all martial in character and contains no objects specific to female uses. The average quality of the workmanship is extremely high and especially remarkable in view of the large number of individual objects, such as swords or helmets, from which the elements in the hoard came.

The hoard was purchased jointly by the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery for £3.285 million under the Treasure Act 1996.

Hi General Electric, sadly the Centenary Square now no longer looks anything like the photo, it's had a redesign and is currently being transformed into a new enlarged public square.

Centenary Square Birmingham

This is how it looked as of yesterday, with new fountains and a reflective pool being installed at this end and its still very much a construction site

To aljuarez, AbidM, Skopje/Скопје, streetlegal, and cyril sneer Thanks everyone

I was taking a sequence of zoomed in shots of people walking across a busy street, so when I noticed a tram approaching in the background I kept on shooting till the tram had passed by. These are the results below.
