The Pohlads should take advantage of Alatus's ineptitude and add more than just a few floors to this project. How about an additional 20 - 30?? We could then start the iconic conversation again.

I agree whole-heartily with that observation! I'm just glad you said it instead of me....LOL! I have to admit it is a very attractive building! Considering the way things work around here, even though I'd be in the camp for a 15-20 floor addition... knowing it wouldn't happen.

10/3.

You can see that they've removed the forms from the first level of walls for the north core. 1 down, 40 more levels to go for that core. Columns up on east side of parking garage, more pad and strip footings (or grade beams?) going in tying caissons together on the north and east sides of the site. The concrete structure near the center, east of the north core, is the elevator pit for the garage elevators. The southern core is a bit deeper than the north core, as it contains service elevators that go all the way down to the bottom level of the garage, while the north core does not.

10/7.

New is the start of the exterior garage wall on the east side (hard to see here due to the shadow). Continuing along with the rest.

10/11.

Lots of progress along the perimeter. Bottom level of south core walls look ready to pour. Access ramp being dug out.

Thanks for you photos and updates. Its fun to watch the progress of this large and complex construction project as it moves through its embryonic phase.

When you look at the west end of this project it is crazy how much bedrock they had to hammer out. It must be 15-20ft. When you look at this project from photos it is hard to get a scale perspective. But when you zoom in and see it from a worker's perspective you can kind of understand how massive this hole is!!!

10/15.

Looks like I was on the right track. There's a new folding mini tower crane partially assembled on the eastern side of the site. 1st level of south core walls are done, continuing to make progress on everything else for the bottom level of the ramp.

Does anyone know about the rubber layer they're putting down? Is that for radon mitigation or are they worried about water intrusion on this portion, or is it something else completely different? I just don't recall seeing that on a commercial project before.

Not an expert, but as far as I can recall, just about any type of basement built today is going to have a membrane below the slab, which is intended to control both radon and moisture.

It's a bit tough to see in the above photos, but they have mounted the base for some kind of boom or small crane on top of the north core formwork. Maybe the concrete pump boom that will climb with the formwork?

10/29.

You can see formwork just starting to go up at the northeast corner for the 2nd level of the parking garage. A bit east of center, the large footing "box" is the base of the ramp between the levels of the parking garage.

Currently, the highest point of the new tower is the roof of the porta-potty.
