Thanks for updates.

Once MRT7 gets built,

Yung sa Commonwealth Ave NB, it's a big truth. Pag di ako makasakay ng bus to our subdivision sa may Caltex/FCM (especially pag Fridays), yung lakad ko umaabot hanggang Camaro or Pearl Drive (or worse Doña Carmen).

P.S. Yung pinapasukan kong school is a couple of walks away from Fairlane (NCBA Fairview).

MRT-7 builders ready to start; DoTC says not yet

Quote:

“We have not yet made any actions yet,” Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio A. Abaya told reporters on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

This explains why there is no photo-op of the groundbreaking...

SMC-MRT Line 7 | Length: 22.8km | 14 Stations | Completion: 2019

yan na nga ba ang sinasabi ko. Tatak Dilaw talaga. Pinaka walang kwenta at pinaka inutil yang si PAbaya. I wouldnt be surprised na may kaso na namang isasampa diyan at mahihinto ang project. Walang pag asa talaga ang Pilipinas. Aalis na lang talaga ako at mangingibang bayan.

I beg for people, please do not votr for Mar Roxas.

Abaya should be charged with economic sabotage

If mar loses he can blame abaya for it. Becoz of all the palpak doings of the dotc, people lost their faith with LP

Hayy.....

This DOTC is trolling SMB. I dont expect any groundbreaking soon as SMB did not agree to building the common station at Trinoma.

DOTC was hoping that SMB can't secure financial closure because of the common station limbo and have this project rebidded which will favor their crony.
The 2 common station alternative is not working because no one is funding the second station in trinoma

I agree. Ted Failon pretty much indicated this last February 9 on the radio. I made a post about it before too...

SMC given until Feb 19 to submit MRT-7 report

Quote:
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is giving San Miguel Corp. (SMC) until Feb. 19 to submit the report for the financial closure of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) to avoid delays on the project.

DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya told reporters yesterday SMC has yet to submit the report for the financial close of the project.

“Feb. 19 is a clear deadline. If they don’t (meet that), the NEDA (National Economic and Development Authority) Board approval will expire. We’re hoping they could get the financial close before,” he said.

Should SMC fail to comply with the deadline, he said the project would have to be brought back to the NEDA Investment Coordination Committee for approval.
Listening to Ted Failon right now and despite SMC already saying they already had a meeting with DOTC and its all systems go, it is Jun Abaya that is threatening to delay MRT7 yet again. Ted is implying its because if SMC do not close by Abaya's self imposed deadline, he will cancel the contract and have it go through NEDA again for rebidding (in which Ayala will eventually "win" the new contract). The reason for this is ultimately the common station which Ayala desperately wants in Trinoma but Universal refuses to relocate it there. This guy is just crazy!
I don't know if these additional items such as to "identify the strategic investors" and the detailed engineering and design is part of that February 19 deadline. But that day has passed so we will find out in a few days what will happen to the project.

TBH, at this point I am even hoping that photo op politics maybe involved given PNoy was away in the US. Maybe Abaya just wants him, PNoy and Roxas to be photographed at the ground breaking so it will appear they were the ones that made this project possible...even though this was a PGMA project and the only reason why it got delayed was Jun Abaya's common station in Trinoma obsession...

Pressed for confirmation on the timeline, Mr. Abaya said: “I have to check when they could [start]. They still have to do the DED (detailed engineering design), they still have to go through the process.”

In a separate mobile phone reply yesterday, DoTC Assistant Secretary Jaime Fortunato A. Caringal said: “We are still finalizing details also in coordination with ULC.”

MRT-7 not in DOTC PPP Project List..

Other railway projects are listed there...

Bakit kaya?????

As Far as NEDA is concerned the Financial Closing is the FINAL MILESTONE. After this last MILESTONE the DOTC is powerless to stop the project...the DOTC can not veto the project anymore. The ULC can not build their North Avenue Terminal near the TRINOMA as there is Permanent Injunction issued by the SC against the Trinoma Common Station.
