Shedkm are the masterplan architects (https://www.shedkm.co.uk/shedkm-appo...od-birmingham/). An outline app will arrive early next year according to the link.

Consultation lasts from 3pm till 9 & is located at Dig Brew - 43 River Street, just off Fazeley St

At first glance, it looks very well considered for the area. The only thing that can really be preserved is the one wall of the bus garage and it is being preserved which is nice to see too.

Can't see much wrong with that at first glance.

It would certainly be nice to see them continue alongside the tram through Digbeth and then right up to the bullring. And from there across Smithfield to the national route along the Rea.

It's only early stages but it looks very promising. I hope they do submit an app early next year as they say they will.

That looks absolutely terrific!! Everything you want from considered thinking - using some of the existing fabric, use of the canalside, good communal areas and brickwork innovation.

Like it so far! I like the idea of Digbeth having its own centre around the custard factory, with developments like this surrounding it.

Agreed, I'm very supportive, couldn't go to the presentation event, but submitted my feedback form.

Have to say that this proposal, along with everything that's happening on Broad Street, serves as pretty solid evidence that the tram is driving investment in the city.

As for the scheme itself, it looks very promising, especially bringing some of those unloved canalside locations in Digbeth into use.

whilst this proposal looks promising there are a few issues immediately next to the garage on the corner of Liverpool st and adderley st stands a brothel it isn't highlighted on the demolition picture talking to people who work at the garage there have been some real nasty things happening there also on the same st there is a soup kitchen for the homeless there are often fights and lots of people drinking and urinating against the garage i wouldn't want to live in that area the garage along with perrybarr garage will relocate

Sits right next to this,

https://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=2214832

Which whatever you think of it is going to completely revolutionise the area. For better or worse.

Will bring thousands of people into the city centre and into Digbeth. I feel like more of the area's character should be retained in the process though.
