Far too rich for Buffalo. I think they are going to put up an aluminum pre fab u store it in that location. At least that's the word on the street.

Wasn't that site for UB Medical future expansion?
or maybe I'm misremembering.

I spend a lot of time there for my job. I even lived there for a time. Endless streets of the cheapest tract homes that can be put up as quickly as possible. And the neighborhoods from the 60s and 70s we even worse. Take a ride around the office parks near the airport and in Gilbert. They make the crap on Ridge Lea Drive look like the Taj Mahal.

12 Tupper

Renovation complete at building on corner of Tupper and Washington streets

A two-story commercial building on the corner of Tupper and Washington streets now has five loft apartments upstairs, after a $1 million renovation by developer and State Sen. Chris Jacobs.

Jacobs, owner of Avalon Development, acquired the 9,870-square-foot brick building at 12 Tupper four years ago from Hal Leader of Printing Prep for $550,000, and took his time evaluating options. He eventually chose to gut and convert the second floor to residential space, and all five one-bedroom units were leased within two months – mostly to tenants affiliated with the nearby Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.

Planning Board supports Heritage Point project, carousel building at Canalside

Developer Nick Sinatra's planned $21 million Canalside project and a new $5.3 million roundhouse building for a historic waterfront carousel are poised for final approvals later this month, after the Buffalo Planning Board on Monday night gave its assent to the designs that were already developed in conjunction with the state.

The panel recommended approval by the Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. of Sinatra's Heritage Point project, consisting of two six-story buildings, with ground-floor retail and restaurants, one floor of office space and 61 apartments. That will be located on the South Aud Block, along Marine Drive, and should be finished by 2021, officials said.

The board similarly backed approval for the Buffalo Heritage Carousel, a large octagonal-shaped one-story building next to Clinton's Dish that will house a restored 1924 carousel. It's expected to open by July 2020.

In other matters during the short 39-minute meeting, the Board encouraged the Common Council to approve the $68,000 sale of air rights over part of Main Street to Seneca One tower owner Douglas Jemal, to build a 60-foot-long footbridge 21 feet above the Metro Rail train tracks.

Was in Nashville this past weekend for the Bills/Titans game. If Nashville can handle a downtown stadium (with VERY little parking, btw) - so can Buffalo. It was fun to walk from the Westin to the game - through downtown - and back and hit up the bars after a fun game.

Besides the fact that Buffalo completely took over that city - I was more impressed with the number of cranes in that city. More than 30 cranes dotted the skyline...

I was also impressed that Nashville has a daily direct flight to/from London via British Airways.

Nashville doesn't have lite rail, yet but it is coming no doubt.

Yea, Nashville has a high sales tax (so does the 716) BUT zero income tax clearly help the Nashville economy...

You guys should see Atlanta during their home games downtown. While traffic management wasn't flawless, it was still manageable. Plus a lot of titans fans went to the attractions downtown like centennial park and the CNN center.

I feel like Nashville is like Austin where I just moved to. Same growth trajectory. No pro sports in downtown Austin, but they have the Longhorns. but the growth is absolutely explosive. Cranes all over with several tall building just topped out with many on the way. Buffalo goes crazy when a place like Riverfront Landing goes up, but there are like 100 of those going up around town. 1 huge difference, no great old architecture like Buffalo and no huge lake.

new YMCA

Ehrbar said the agency wants to build the new facility within a square mile of the Delaware Avenue branch. He said they're looking for about 10 acres of land and they've narrowed their search to a handful of sites.

This radius includes the properties at Elmwood and Hertel avenues that Uniland Development Co. has collected, as well as the shuttered Kmart on Hertel, for example, but Ehrbar and Dolan did not identify the sites under serious consideration.
