Townsville fantasy projects

Prepare for the Next Generation in Commercial Buildings, never before Experienced in Australia..

Prepare for....

Commercial Plaza on Flinders

The latest commercial development in the booming Townsville CBD.

"its important that buildings built in this modern era incorperate more then just a space for people to work. This Commercial Building on Flinders is so much more. It is an essence. A concept. A Destination."
- Danubis on Channel 10 News 17th October 2004

You can see by the generous floorspace and ceiling to floor windows that the architect has really considered the needs of todays businessman.

Extract from Interview of the Architect "gotta love 'im'' gertzy -

"...These two Pictures are of a sketch of a Building I thought up and Designed. If built, It shall be called Commercial Plaza on Flinders as I would like it to be on Flinders street. The Building is 23 stories (17 in pics as less Paper space). So I might send copies out to Property developers and Architects etc and see how they like it."

Testimonials -

"it looks like a bunch of squares. So ur building is just a box?"
-Blend 17 October 2004

Gertzy on what he could do to make the design better -

"I might need to make them a bit more bigger maybe."

Yes, where the sqigly lines are drawn inside the boxes in the renders. That means glass window. But it is going to be a rectangular Prism structure. But I mean, This is really funny to me as I didn't think it was that big a deal. You all crack me up.

If its built. The Lobby will be Two floors with a couple of Shops on ground and Cafes and a resturant on second lobby floor. That funny Danubis. As last statement, yes the building is a rectangular prism box.

The name is too long. I am sure that if this is built it this will not be the name.

Flinders Plaza sounds better.

Well it's a shame Commericial Plaza on Flinders didn't eventuate, but here's something I drew the other day. I give you:

Litoria Centre

Named for the genus of tree frogs, this 37 storey, 133 metre building (just enough not to embarrass Adelaide ) will be built on the Dimmey's Plaza site, incorporating retail and parking in the podium (including a Myer store) with office space in the tower, topped by a 2 floor obervation deck and restuarant.

Special prize for anyone who can guess the building I got inspiration from

I just recently designed a 30 story tower at around 95m with a 15m spire similar to the Collins street buildings.

Nope not CP1. It was Melbourne Central actually (the detailing on the facade)

One of My Proposed Fantasy plans is the Three Story 210 store Pallaranda Shoppingtown and Complex.

It includes the Shopping centre itself.
*A Water Theme Park (alas Wet n Wild world style but smaller)
*An Indoor Theme Park that can be entered via the Food Court
*A Hotel High Rise and Two Apartment Complexes nearby with Sea views
*An area for Big Box retailers in seperate Buildings (i.e The Warehouse, Bunnings, Harvey Norman etc.)
*A monorail linking these areas (One at the Theme Park, Two for the shopping centre, One at the Water theme Park, and one at the Hotel and Apartment area. Monorail with two different directional Rails.
*and a new Highway/motorway that runs from Pallaranda Road to the Bruce Highway after Saunder Beach that links the Northern Beaches to the CBD Via Palleranda.

An Amazing and Unrealistic Dream I know.
