HCL opens new IT centre in Vijayawada

HCL SSHS (State Street HCL Services) Facility, a joint venture between HCL Technologies and US-based State Street Corporation, has opened its IT centre at Medha Tech Park at Ganavaram near Vijayawada airport. Nara Lokesh, State IT Minister, who was the chief guest for the inauguration, said the IT platform would give a great opportunity to the local talent. Michael Brager, Chairman of the board of State Street HCL India, was also present on the occasion along with senior members from HCL leadership team. The joint venture offers high-end financial services. The facility, spread over 63,000 sq ft is expected to generate 1,000 plus high-end employment opportunities in the areas of capital market, fund administration, investment management and brokerage services. Anoop Tiwari, Vice-President, HCL Technologies, thanked the State Government and the IT Minister for their co-operation. |

IT firm opened at Gannavaram

Sports and Law Minister Kollu Ravindra along with Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana inaugurated an information technology firm, Gemini Consulting & Services, at Medha Hi-Tech City (IT Park) in Gannavaram on Sunday. The company, headquartered in the United States, has a global delivery centre in Hyderabad and Bhubaneswar employing over 500 persons. In the city branch, the company is going to provide employment for about 100 professionals. AP Non-Resident Telugus (APNRT) Society president and advisor to State Ravi Vemuru said the ecosystem for IT firms was being improved in every possible way in the State. GCS chief executive officer Srini Rajinikanth said it was the ninth office of the company. |

According to an official statement, HCL is setting up its operations in Andhra Pradesh in two phases. In the first phase, the Noida-based company will invest Rs 400 crore to build a R&D centre in Kesarapalli village in Gannavaram. The facility is expected to accommodate more than 4,000 IT professionals, it said. The phase-I will commence with the foundation stone laying ceremony on October 8 and is expected to be completed in seven years' time, employing more than 4,000 IT professionals, the statement added. The phase II will be taken up later in Amaravati, the new capital of Andhra Pradesh in a campus of 20 acres. The investment for this phase is expected to be Rs 350 crore and will include about 3,500 IT professionals in five years' time. |

The Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) has facilitated the establishment of the companies at its Infosight IT park near Tadepalli. The five companies include GT Konnect India Pvt Ltd, Parikaram IT Solutions Pvt Ltd, Tech Scape, Trendsoft Technologies and Diagno Smart Solutions. “Several IT firms are showing interest in operating out of Amaravati region as the State government is extending 50 per cent rental subsidy with plug-and-play office spaces. So far, the APNRTS has facilitated the establishment of 87 firms across Andhra Pradesh. |
