Any idea about state wise export figures for 2008-2009 or say 2007-2008?
If some one can post some information.

(And I think software exports numbers are not included in the monthly figures)

So clearly the total exports numbers in the table above are inaccurate.

The annualised figures for 08-09 approximate to just over $15bn/month

The stats themselves only cover upto Q2 of 09-10, ie September 2009, therefore any improvement in the last 5 months, let alone last 3 months would obviously not be shown on them.

Thanks, but apparently thats not what that thread is for... or maybe only commenting on certain state economies is allowed in there

X-posting re to the suggestion that as these figures dont include IT, Karnataka is well positioned

Quote:
As ppl have said, IT figs shouldve been included, but even then, I must say, the Karnataka figures still somewhat confuse me,

Comparing Non-IT exports with TN

07-08 = Karnataka equal to TN
08-09 = Karnataka 2/3 of TN
09-10 = Karnataka 1/2 of TN (Q1&2 only)

Karnataka showed the largest decline from 07-08 to 08-09 and still posted one of the larger decreases from last fiscal to the current

So, what is happening that has meant Karnataka exports were so badly hit before the rest of the country and have taken so much longer to recover? Is it a commodity price downturn such as in the Diamond sector in Guj? Or was it a poor harvest Agriculturally? Or both? Or niether?

Im unable to find a breakdown of the Karnataka economy by sector %, can anyone shed some light on what is going on behind the numbers?

This data is only till 2005-2006. Data after that is missing or not available?. 2008-2009 will show the right figures.

Sudden jump for Bengaluru and Kolkatta, but no changes for Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai & Hyderabad.

Most of the sites published the above data yesterday/today!

Thanks for posting Arul!

Wonder what is behind the jump for Kolkata in particular? Its massive!!! Theyve added the equivalent of Surat+Kanpur!

At this rate, Ahmedabad should take over 6th spot by the time the next stats come out

Surat was $36 billion in 2008. How can it go down to $22 billion? Could be a typo or they may have reduced the population size?

Same with Pune - it was $48 billion.
