Financing of the relocation of the Dragon fountain was also approved in next years budget last night, so work will probably start soon. Finished ??? They have prepared the site for the relocation so they happily won't have to dig the whole square up again.

Tog lidt metro exploring i dag igen.

Her i Stampesgades nedgang til metro station.

Kongens Nytorv nye metro.

https://www.berlingske.dk/hovedstade...en-eller-bilen

Resultat:
Bil: 37 min. 53 sekunder
Cykel: 25 min. 24 sekunder
Metro: 18 min.

Some small details about the new stations

1. I noticed these small red lights under the metro signs, usually there is one, but fx at Rådhuspladsen the sign as two lights. What is the purpose of those?

2. Really nice to have these info screens at all the main entrances (even tho most of then dont seem to work yet) I really hope that they will decide to install these at all the old stations as well, together with getting rid of the M-columns.

3. I really like the Gammel Strand, so refreshing to have something different from everything else (together with Marmorkirken obviously). Wish more stations had a layout similar to this one. The beautiful granite tunnel with blue light looks marvelous.

However I don't understand how elevator-using-people are supposed to be able to buy tickets here as the only ticket machine is placed here at the middle level... Al the same time there is 2 rejsekort-machines at the platform.

4. The bike parking at some more important stations is completely hopeless. Rådhuspladsen has just a handful of places, while at Kongens Nytorv there are 0 close to the new entrance. As you can see on the picture underneath, people just park along the stairs and elevators.

5. The locations of Rejsekort check in/out is completely strange. They could just have placed them in the same way like in old metro, which I believe they have adjusted through the years to make sense for people. Instead they have invented something completely different- placing the in the middle platform of the escalators- which makes no sense at all IMO, also it means that there are a lot fewer of them than in any old station and easier to miss on your way in/out. Seems like a very poor solution, hope they realize that soon.

Another weird thing i noticed is that on Frederiksberg, there is a very short staircase and escalators but no ramp for wheelchairs. Which means that these users need to go to street level to change between M1/M2 and M3.

I didn't explore the problem further, så it may be that there's something i missed, but it's just super odd.

No intention to be grumpy or something, but I do realize that the connection in Kongens Nytorv is a bit impractical and takes quite some time. It would be better if it was like the one planned in København H...Do we know if there is any chance this will happen?

How so? Won't they both be transfers via the concourse level once the transfer tunnel opens? I personally think the transfer at Kongens Nytorv works rather well and I don't think the lack of direct platform-to-platform interchange is as jarring given how shallow the M3/M4 station is.

First big test of the Circle line today as 36,000 drunk football fans got to get home at the same time.

We figured that most people would go to Trianglen and travel towards Østerport/Kongens Nytorv, so we walked to Vibenhus Runddel and took the other way around the Circle to the central station.

Good decision as we had enough space in the train and we did make the 20:52 ICLyn to Køge Nord with plenty of time to spare.

I don't know if the pressure on Trianglen was to much but for the time we where in the metro (12 minutes or so) there was no train going in the opposide direction.

They said it was a technical problem but I'm guessing that people has been holding the doors etc at trianglen to get on the train.

Denmark leading their group in their Euro-qualifiers, taking the metro from Vibenhus Runddel to KBH H and then ICLyn to Køge Nord is so damn cool. The future is really here.

Well just the minor difference that Ireland is leading the group on away goals. :-)

@ Urbans.
