Thank you for the photos Oldbury.I think this project has worked out well.I'm pleasantly surprised to see the Metro Plaza signage there.Of course they removed the original Metro 'entrance' during the works;I wonder if it will turn up at another Metro stop.

Great views if you are leaving West Bromwich, but still no improvement as you approach from the Tram Stop – Oldbury’s earlier photos show the blandness of the approach to the Kings square – Any sign of the work on that side being finished yet or are they still awaiting delivery of materials from China(I kid you not !)

Well when I questioned if there was to be new signage I was told it was new signage

I don't know if you have seen the profile cut metal art work around Morrison's in Wednesbury? Some like that in connection with a railway subject or Jenson's shaped cars & lit up at night to show it all off.
That's what I would do

It would appear more new materials have arrived ,although no work on the main steps yet .

Im sure the new fence being erected will create some comment , can't see why its needed my self ? although it would be a help if any one tries to pinch the security camera .

The reason these steps have not been finished ,one broken step.

The metal railings look cheap & naff IMO. I can't help but think it's placed there to stop folk running down the bank, not been able to stop at the bottom & tripping over the wall injuring themselves.

Although I'm not also over impressed with the railings on the steps either. Maybe a black finish might have been better?

I see they have used 3 blocks on the above picture, have they run out of rusty bollards? LOL

They always have to leave a bit unfinished

You would have thought they'd have done something with the small wall on the right of the entrance to |Kings Square - to hide those rotten green Plant room doors

Maybe they could have continued that green railing all the way down & made it all a bit higher?

So much potential for that rear entrance of Kings Square to become a new all singing all dancing main entrance. Won't hold my breath though.

Are they leaving the 2 "Kings Square" signs up or is one going to be removed? They could just make the entrance that much bigger & get some natural light in there if they incorporated those windows above into a new door design

I cart understand why they have put steps there , why not just have all the block paving lead up to the doors ,no need for the steps at all .

very few people use this entrance at all anyway !

Yeah it needs to be moved. On another note, Oldbury has been quiet on here for a while. No updates on the depot for a while either.

Improved road safety, that's a laugh. Why do they make the effort for Bus & Tram users, but no thought for the poor old motorist who through their taxes fund such projects.

They really need to look for an alternative routes to move traffic away from this plaza IMO
