I would have thought it was a way of protecting themselves of getting sued in case a member of the public wanders in, gets hit by a JCB, and sues them for thousands.

Funny thing is right alongside the foot entrance is a lorry entrance with the door wide open and anyone could wander in.

You can see the lorry entrance on the far right of my site picture here

Tower crane appeared over the weekend. Looking forward to this one going up. Will add some more density to eastside.

I may try to go up Eastside this weekend and take some pictures of Ormiston, the ongoing car park, and anything else happening in Eastside.

Below is the Ormiston Academy site as it was today (31st July 2010).

A panorama so you need to scroll across to see it all

As I have said before, with the 6 foot high fence it is now difficult to photograph so I am standing on a wall.

Compare it with the last picture I posted on 29th June

I took a few pictures of the crane Saturday (same day as my panorama above) but it was very cloudy and the pictures were poor.

These two are probably the best of them (it was working Saturday morning)

Near the rear entrance of Millenium Point building (facing Etna house)

I walk past this every day going to and from work. They are already installing the second floor. The crane looks like it is hanging over Jennens Road.

Got some shots as I walked past it at lunchtime. Second floor going up fast.

Interesting, it looks like a part-concrete, part-steel construction. Thanks for the shots.

No problem. It went from the first floor being up one week to the second one going up over the last week or so.

A few pictures of the Ormiston Academy from the last 2 visits up there.

This was from the 30th August. Frontal view from Jennens Road.

This was from 4th September. Standing with my back to the new Millenium Point car park looking towards the Ormiston Academy.

This was taken on the 4th September. Some detail from the steel frame at the back of the site.

This was taken on the 4th September. Some detail from the building at the front of the site.

You should get updates from the Aston University Student Accomodation now that they have opened it up (all the way from Jennens Road to Aston Street).
